Iam trying to connect my android device on mac to test application I developed.First I installed USB driver, then I activated in my phone the developer option by tapping on Build Number and then tick USB debugging option.Once I did all those steps when I connect my android mobile, my Mac still not recognize my device.Any idea to solve it?

I experienced the same problem with a Moto X and my Macbook Pro. I tried many of the suggestions (installed Android File Transfer, tried different usb ports on my computer, Settings => Storage => USB computer connection => toggled between MTP and PTP, etc.). None of these other recommendations helped.

Bizarre. You definitely want to first enable Developer Options first by going to Settings => About Phone => tapping Build number 7 times to display Developer Options. From there, you want to enable USB debugging.

Just to add my experience here. I had a similar problem with my mac book pro and my Google Pixel 1 device. For me when running adb devices locally, I was no longer showing my device on the list. I would see any emulators I had running, but not my physical device.

I've recently (2018) started to have this issue, and have found the only way to get my device connected is to use a USB hub. I have not been able to track down a root cause but will edit this answer if I can find a solution rather than a workaround.

If your device was previously authorized/working but no longer, I found that I can get the Android device to trigger the prompt to authorize the Mac again by changing the mode of the USB connection to USB tethering

I have an HTC U11 and a MacBook Pro (2017). It used to work most of the time, but I experienced issues with it once or twice. Then a restart of the Mac solved the problem.Recently I was not able to USB debug. adb devices gave nothing, even though my phone said I'm USB debugging (even asked if I wanted to).

Same problem.

I tried connect with other devices too but only my new S20 Android cannot connect with my PC (Win10).

S7 and S9 without problem.

I tried do add USB drive and result without problem.

If its android problem, i hope this issue will be soon repaired with next update.

Hello, I plugged in a usb connected to my android phone, but can't find the device on the mac. The phone recognized the connection and I mounted it, however on the mac no screen popped up or anything, and idk where to find the device so that I can't intregrate with and exchange material with my phone.

My problem seems more extreme: my MacBook Pro (2015 13" Retina) cannot detect USB drives, either in Finder, Disk Utility or Terminal. The drives work fine in an almost identical Macbook. Both USB ports give the same outcome, so a hardware defect at the port seems unlikely. Any ideas very welcome!

Now this is what i figured out. If I cant see my USB device, i go to >Utilities>Disk Utilities> [the window pops up] and i find my USB device on the left hand side. Now this is what i did; i had Finder opened and so i dragged the USB device from Disk Utilites into the left hand side of the Finder window, and then it was visible.

I am having this problem too. Opened the Disk Utilities but everything is grayed out and I can't click on anything. I JUST bought the iMAC and didn't get the disk port when I bought it. Do you have to have that to have access to the usb ports? It was charging my device, but I couldn't use it in any way.

Okay I was having the same problem too, where I opened the Disk Utilities and nothing was there. What I simply did was downloaded an Android file transfer for Mac. The Android file transfer will show on the left hand side of the Finder window and it will also come up when the device is connected to the Mac. You can go here to download.

I have a dbtech slider scanner connected via USB that I am trying to use and my Macbookair does not see it in devices. Devices does list however a remote disc that I do not have connected. Is this a similar problem to others listed or how do I resolve?

I have a similar problem with my Macbook Pro. i bought it only last September and had never used a Mac properly before. I've tried an Iphone 3G, Android Phone and now a Nokia Lumia 625 (windows mobile OS). I can connect the Iphone, edit content via Itunes and it opens Iphoto. The Lumia also opens Iphoto but I can't see any photos that are on it. Both charge and show some sign of acknowledging the connection.

I have used a USB Stick (I'm not technical sorry) with the laptop before and set up a printer but I have never been able to find any external media devices (Iphone, Android phone, Windows phone, Ipod nano) through finder or on my desktop when they have been connected.

When I open the disk Utility app, there are 3 items on the left hand menu: 500.11 GB APPLE HDD ST500LM012 Media (my harddrive I assume) with a subcategory Macintosh HD. Then under those is a greyed out SuperDrive.

The Iphone has definitely worked with a Windows laptop before and as I said, I just can't find the devices in Finder. Sorry if my description is a bit erratic, i was trying all the fixes people have suggested here as I wrote it to make sure I didn't fix it. Any help would be appreciated otherwise it may be a trip to the apple store on saturday. Thanks for reading ?

I tried all of the previous recommendations in this thread and I still can't "find" the USB that I plugged in. I've used this USB many times before and this is the first time that it doesn't show up when I open my Finder window. Did you get any other information on what to do to find your USB?

In addition, I sometimes have the same problem when I plug certain USBs into my printer. This is a recent problem that just started happening--it's never happened to me before and I've been using Mac for about 2 years now.

Hi everyone, im new in Unreal and im trying to make Android export work, followed some tutorials, read the documentation and the forum, as far as i know this should be working but Unreal does not recognize Android for the export. Ill try to put in here my config as detailed as i can:

Hi, I went directly from version 4.27.2 to 5.1, but I imagine it will be the same with 5.0, be sure to follow the steps that Epic tells you when making a Android build, installing Android Studio, configuring the system, the UE project, and compiling native for Android for the specific Unreal Engine version you are using; always follow the Unreal Engine documentation.

For example: if you are using version 5.1, you would have to launch the SetupAndroid.bat from \Program Files\Epic Games\UE_5.1\Engine\Extras\Android, to install the NDK r25b (NDK API Level = Android-25) and not the 21, which is the one I see you have set and would give you problems (you may need more things, you have to follow the steps one by one and ignore old tutorials).

I use Quest 2 (native android) with UE5.1, I have not tested with tablets.

although i installed android stuidio 4.0 as the docs says for unreal 5.0.1.

the only thing im thinking about is, that i have my unreal installationin in another location, not the default C:/Program Files/Epic Games but that shouldnt be a problem, should be?

Unreal Engine can be in another drive (I have it in another) but I seem to remember that all the Android Studio part has to be in the C: drive, I have all the Java and Android in C:.

It is very possible that this is the problem, I think it happened to me and I saw it somewhere that it was totally necessary.

Let us know if this is the case.

ADB is available on your computer when you install Android Studio. If you don't already have Android Studio, download and install Android Studio. If you're not using Android Studio, you need to download and install Android SDK platform tools.

Note that Fire tablets can treat the USB with different transfer options. After connecting the USB cable, swipe down from the top of your tablet to see the USB option used. You might see various notifications, including the USB connection type that was used when you connected the cable. The relevant notification is highlighted in the screenshot below.

The device's name will use the android.os.Build.MODEL property for the device. KFSUWI refers to Fire HD 10 (2017) tablet. You can see a list of build model names in the Identifying Fire Tablet Devices.

Instead of looking in the devices menu in Android Studio, you can also use some ADB terminal commands to confirm that your device is connected. ADB is useful for performing many other operations as well, such as entering sandbox mode or installing other assets. Follow these two sections:

First, add ADB to your PATH so you can more easily run ADB commands. (Your PATH is an environment variable used to specify the location of the program's executable. If you don't add ADB to your PATH, running ADB commands will require you to browse to the /platform-tools directory to run adb.)

If this is your first time opening Android Studio, there isn't an SDK Manager button. Instead, at the Welcome to Android Studio prompt, click Configure > SDK Manager and provide the location to the Android SDK.

If rescanning devices doesn't detect your Fire tablet as a device, your micro-USB cable might be bad, you might have the wrong USB connection type (e.g, camera instead of media device), or you might not have enabled USB debugging. You can also try restarting your computer and the tablet.

If you previously connected a Fire tablet without first enabling ADB on the Fire tablet, you might need to remove the existing USB device driver and force re-installation of the driver. To remove the non-ADB driver:
