[niu-lug] Flourish Open Source Conference

Dear all,

There will be an open source conference next Friend and Saturday at University of Illinois at Chicago. Please see the following link for the topics:

If we have enough people interested in going, we could try borrowing the department car to go there. Otherwise, Vincent can drive, and we may be able to find another car.

Also because of this, next week's meeting will be cancelled.

Two trips out there with my car would run up $60 in gas/parking.
Divide that by 3 or 4 to get a transportation cost each. I vote on
the train option and walking the mile to UIC. I could cover the
gas/parking to elburn.

Friday - $14.50 train tickets round trip
Saturday - $7 weekend pass
Transportation for both days $21.50

Last year's CCC was amazing, free meals, energy drinks, sugar, free
raffles for attending, business networking, great talks with a range
of topics-- they're just forming the schedule now.

Hey guys, know I'm a little late to this party, but I'm thinking of going in to the Saturday conference. Are you going to be staying there overnight on Friday or going out both days? 

If you're going out again on Saturday, I'd be up for travelling together. Otherwise, we should at least meet up at the conference.

Yeah, no plans to stay out there. Two round trip travels each day to
elburn -> train -> mile walk. Most of the stuff I want to see is on
Saturday too.

On my mind right now: I just learned my parents are coming in to town
tomorrow and I wont be able to see them if I go to the conference. I
wont back down if you really want to see some of the talks on Friday
there are some I want to see too. At the very least I'll provide
transportation to elburn friday.

Saturday all the way for sure though.

Yeah, I'm at work all day Friday. Plus, all the good stuff seems to be on Saturday anyway.

What time were you planning on meeting for the train on Saturday morning?

I would like to know the same except for tomorrow instead of saturday. I can't make it on Saturday unfortunately because of work commitments, but i'll be on campus till 12 and free after thatif you guys plan to leave anytime after that.

We would be glad to have you with us tomorrow.

The plan is to leave at 9:30am from HSC to to catch the 10:25a train
in Elburn. I'll park and meet you two at the bus turnaround.

I imagine that we would be catching an early train on Saturday--
something similar to Friday's schedule.

Yeah, looking at the train schedule, the same stands for Saturday:
9:30 @ HSC to catch the 10:25 train. We'd get to the conference
around 12:30. We could go earlier on Saturday to catch the early bird
stuff, but I'd be fine with leaving at 9:30ish.

Zhihao is not coming, and I still wait response from another guy named Jie.

Unless you heard from me in the next hour, you can safely assume he is not coming eigher. Which means we will probably go there by train (same as today) and we will still meet in HSC bus turnover at 9:30.
