Dear Friends,
In the middle of the festive and election mood, here’s a personal note from Team Goonj for everyone whose love as individual/institution, has made possible our journey of 2 decades!!
The common perception, that Goonj is all about Cloth or Disaster has certainly started bothering us. Our work is much beyond that, in parts of 23 states on hard core issues of water, sanitation, education, health, rural infrastructure, livelihood with an innovative model - Using material as a powerful reward. Do refer our latest annual report link to see how, where and what we do by changing the traditional charitable giving to more mindful and dignified giving.
Today we need more individuals and institutions to join us, to ensure that the work continues to grow as a mass movement. Many states we work in - from Bihar, MP to Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, North eastern states, are not popular for CSR giving. Similarly making of village roads, bamboo bridges, despite being the lifeline for millions, doesn’t often count as sustainable development!!
While institutional giving takes care of a part of our work, YOUR money addresses the un-attended, un-conventional, grassroots innovations and work in the deeper parts.
