path expansion

I am experiemnting a bit with open id and there I have to sere the
follwing request path:

/.well-known/host-meta

but this get expanded to:
/.well-known/host-meta.well-known/host-meta

is there a better way to serve such a request than writing a wapper
which filters out and handles such a request ??

well, I actually think now it is better to write a middleware for
that.

hmm the '.' in .well-known is problematic.
