Hello,

We at Cyber Buzz, India's first open source internet cafe, are beginning with an open source training program in which we would train people on using open source softwares like ubuntu, open office, gimp etc.

     attached is a very introductory level slide on linux/ubuntu.
     i prepared this for a seminar in my college where there was almost no familiarity with linux.
     it tries to answer the very common questions asked someone trying linux for the first time.

                Kindly avoid introducing Linux as an anti-windows weapon. Kindly put
                the holistic UNIX culture before your audience.

                    comparison of linux with windows is inevitable, especially when you are talking to layman computer users.
                    they will not be interested in the philosophy of unix much.
                    they are more worried about why they should give up windows in favor of something else.
                    that needs to be explained.
                    if we are talking to a bunch of programmers, then its a totally different ball game.
