INCIDENT is one of
the premier college cultural festivals of India. It is the annual
cultural festival of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka,
Surathkal. INCIDENT promises events to satisfy the cultural needs of
students of various backgrounds. Quiz Fest in INCIDENT has always been one of the largest crowd pullers. INCIDENT plays host to a variety of literary events such as quizzes, crosswords, debates and word games. INCIDENT is also one of the few cultural fests in the nation which gives due importance to Hindi and the regional languages. Workshops of digital photography, animation, sand modeling and various dance forms have been conducted over the years. The trend continues in INCIDENT 09 where various experts will be called upon to impart their invaluable knowledge and as always with a twist of fun! Cyber athletes from all over the nation come participate in the electronic sports extravaganza: Digital assault. It provides a platform for all those who take their gaming seriously. INCIDENT also showcases the most happening trends within the fashion industry via Haute Couture, the INCIDENT Fashion Show. Mr. and Miss INCIDENT is a personality contest looking for spontaneity, creativity and flamboyance in the crowd at INCIDENT. Slam Dunk is a 4-day intercollegiate basketball extravaganza. It boasts of participation from teams across the country, Slam Dunk besides being an exhibition of sporting prowess, also provides extreme entertainment to the audience at the jam packed basketball courts at NITK. Promenade, the Group Dance competition, is a celebration and exhibition of the most exquisite dance talents be it classical or modern. The enthusiasm noticed at INCIDENT's Beach Events is most certainly unparalleled. Highlighted by Sandemonium, the Beach Events always appeal to all sections of the participants at INCIDENT. Also organized are events such as War of DJs and Beach Sports. Apart from these hugely popular events, INCIDENT also has events like Informalz, a fun-filled, activity-oriented event; Exposé, photography exhibition and Kalakriti, an exhibition of fine arts. INCIDENT offers absolute and unadulterated entertainment. At the Pro DJ-Nite, Crossfade, INCIDENT guarantees the best in 'mixed' music the pulsating beats and rhythmic music ensure a grand spectacle. This year 'DJ Nikhil Chinappa' will entertain you! Besides these events, there are also opportunities for upcoming bands to perform at a national level and showcase their talent. The Western Musical, Pulse, previously was headlined by bands such as Galeej Gurus and Bhoomi. This year it showcases the awesome talent of 'Evergreen'. The Eastern Musical, Bandish, draws the most promising crowd from the arena of Indian music (classical as well as rock). Among the highlights of INCIDENT, Encore, the Pro-nite, is certainly one of the best. It showcased electric performances from hugely popular artists such as KK, Euphoria and Parikrama, in the past. This year be ready to be enthralled by 'Kunal Ganjawalla'. The Pro-nite has always attracted massive audiences. For the first time, there will be a Live Webcast of all events at Incident on the website. An attendance of over 6000 participants from close to 150 educational institutions across the country is one among the many reasons that make INCIDENT what it is. With prizes worth lakhs at stake, events at INCIDENT are guaranteed to be complete entertainers. INCIDENT ensures that every participant takes home a truly rejuvenating and refreshing experience.
