hello all seniors,
While going through one of the websites i came
to know that
- pgdie is not the mba but is a m.tech course(aicte).
- Acc. to few personalities it is not actually
the placement of pgdie but mainly is of pgdim that have raised the
figures of placement.
- N few more doubts ....
Seniors these two years are very crucial n will definately decide our
career, please solve all these doubts. I also request you to please go
through all 6 pages of the following link.

Hello Sumit,

PGDIE is the flagship course of NITIE and PGDIM has evolved only because of PGDIE.

Basically NITIE is all about Industrial Engineering and PGDIE is Post graduate diploma in Industrial Engg.

Various other facts :-
1. Placements of PGDIE gets over before that of PGDIM
2. PGDIE is not a core MBA course, it is an Industrial Engineering course widely accepted throughout the world.
3. PGDIE is recognized as M.Tech by AICTE as admission is through GATE. But the subjects are all managerial. You can visit www.nitie.edu
4. Once you come here you will get to know what id PGDIE, some people may raise crap issues but we IE Times as the official Media Cell of NITIE will guide you in right direction.

@ Sumit,

The answers to most of your doubts lie in that 6-page thread only.. what might be confusing for you would be to figure out whose argument you should buy. We know careers of hundreds of the brightest people in this country are at stake here. Aditya has rightly answered some of your queries and adding to that, I would say the following things to you:

1.

1. PGDIE is not a core-MBA course, but is simply what a post graduate diploma in IE should be. It remains a course that focuses on Operations and
Supply Chain Management, but at the same time gives students various options/subjects to choose from other management functions like
Finance/Marketing/IT systems. After all, productivity improvement is not a concern for only manufacturing companies, but also for Banking/IT/Other
Service companies as well. Industrial Engineers are skilled enough to carry out improvements in almost every sector.

2. Both PGDIM/PGDIE as are as good as each other. Though there is some animosity between the two courses (regarding placements mainly, as
evident from that thread), both course complement each other. Course structure is more or less the same. And placement process for both also take
    place at same time.

3. Some PGDIM students might tell you that their course piggybacks PGDIE in terms of placement. What they do not tell is that it is the PGDIE's base
of alumni that has helped NITIE become one of the best places to be at, as far as placements are concerned.

4. Though AICTE lists PGDIE as an M.Tech course, the fact is that the essence of the course lies mainly in management studies. As one guy in that
thread points out how selfish today's youth has become, the sad part is that there are a lot of PGDIE bashers here in NITIE. Although they know
what this course is really about, they present a wrong figure about it for their own convenience and benefit (note that IE and IM students compete
with each other during placement process). It is akin to a fierce rivalry between two rival companies that, at some times, even stoop to low cheap
    tactics to sell their products.

5. If placement is really an important concern to you, then there is no way you can compare IITs M.Tech or MS programs with NITIE's PGDIE. Also,
the placements here would get you in the position of Consultant/Analyst/Management Trainee. From an IIT, you would get into R&D/Application
    profile.

Thank you Gursharan and Aditya sir for yours kind reply.
1. Placement is not a big issue for me .
2. I have seen the course structure too and that have almost all the
management subjects.
3. I am completely satisfied.

I am sorry that I asked such a question but i didnt wants to have any
doubt about any thing. Actually sir some of the posts in that thread
insisted me for doing so.
Thank you once again sir.
Hope to see you soon.
Thank you a lot once again.
Sumit.
