   Some information regarding admission to TIFR and IMSC. Please forward to those who may be intersted.

 

TIFR had invited applications for it's graduate programmes. Details are given below:

 

 The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research is India's premier institution for advanced research in fundamental sciences. The Institute runs a graduate programme leading to the award of Ph.D. degree, as well as M.Sc. and Integrated Ph.D. in certain subjects.

 

GS2013-Last date for application details

Please note that the last date for application is October 26, 2012. DDs will be accepted upto November 2, 2012 and the online payment link will be active till November 2, 2012.

There is a good news. Our alumnus Girish Varma (2008  batch, now in TIFR) won  Google India PhD Fellowship.

 

Girish Varma, a graduate student in the School of Technology and Computer Science wins the Google India PhD Fellowship 2012 in Algorithms. He was one of the 40 students worldwide chosen for the Google PhD Fellowship. The Google PhD Fellowship is given for a period of 48 months supporting graduate studies in Computer Science. JEST-2013(Joint Entrance Screening Test) admission to IMSC

A common qualifying test for admissions to Ph.D. programmes in Physics at premier Indian research institutions and a Ph.D. programme in Theoretical Computer Science at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences. The JEST exam is used to shortlist candidates and does not automatically entitle an applicant to get a Research Fellowship.

JEST 2013 Important Dates:

 

    * Opening of on-line applications – Second week of November 2012

    * Proof of payment should reach the authorities on or before Within 30th December 2012

    * Last date for receipt of the filled applications, and ON-LINE submission of applications- third week of December 2012

    * Interviews start in the last week of April 2013

    * JEST 2013 Exam Date- February 2013
