Students profile website

Hey people!

I've been speaking to a few alumni of our institute and a they've all
been telling me about the importance of having a student profile on
the placement brochure. Now, its going to be really difficult to
collect,organise and print the information as a part of the brochure.
So, I was thinking if we could set up an online professional students
profile website- something on the lines of LinkedIN where the
objective is NOT to socialize but display one's resume and profile and
highlight on the key points.

The website will allow us to use the best profiles to market ourselves
better and we could also ask the co.s reluctant to visit the campus
to have a look at the students profile and invite select students to
interviews.

So, website builders, interested CSE folks, please reply.

The simplest way to do it woul be to use Joomla to create a potal. Im sure a lot of 2nd yr students will be interested in setting it up.

subodh joomla is not an option here ... we just need a profile management software ... which can be easily developed by CS students.

Hey friends,
Me and Rohan had an animated discussion last night and we finally got
to a point that for a college like ours a student profile can have a
negative effect.
So for the time being we have planned to keep the idea stalled. It
would be better if we could now concentrate on our invitations to
various companies.

I agree with u nishank that having a student profile will be
detrimental to us. Morever the task of collaging the information and
editing it all will take a long time.
