Dear All,
Please go through the minutes of the NISWASS Alumni meeting and send
in your valuable suggestion and comments in regard of the agendas
discussed and decided.
Date – 11/12/2010
Time-3.30pm
Venue- NISWASS
The NISWASS Alumni Association held a meeting under the president ship
of Mr.Preetikant , President of the Alumni Association to discuss the
main agenda of reactivating the association .
Members Present:

Agenda Discussed and Decided:
Main Agenda: To reactivate the NISWASS Alumni Association
In this regard the understated matters were discussed and decided with
the concern of the members:
1. Registration: The President along with Secretary with prior
discussion and advice of the management decided to run the Association
under the auspices of the institution, NISWASS.
2. Opening an account: Along with the above decision it was also
decided to open the account with Joint signatory where Principal of
NISWASS would act as one of the signatory along with the Treasurer of
the association.
3. Alumni Meet: As suggested by Mr. Lalit Soreng and advised by our
special invitee Dr.Nabor Soreng along with all other members of the
meeting held on it was decided to hold another alumni meeting on 15th
of January 2011. It was proposed that the said meeting would include
one business session , lunch(contributory)and cultural exchange.
4. Membership:
In this regard Mr. Preetikanta suggested an amount of 200/- for the
membership drive to which the member will deposit either online or
through cheque. The money receipt will be given once the account is
opened.
Mr .Sitakant insisted that there should be two patterns of
membership, i.e. annual and lifetime.
Mr.Simanchal added that some amount can be charged during the
admission by including alumni fees in the fee structure. He even added
that there is a format of membership which can be filled in by the
members who will join.
But the membership is yet to be discussed in the Alumni Meet.
5. Developing the By-laws and Memorandum:
Mr.Simanchal raised the matter of forming a drafting committee which
would take the responsibility of preparing the objectives of the
association, aligning the vision and mission NISWASS, which would help
to develop the foundation of the Alumni Association as a system. He
insisted that this would ultimately act as a driving force for the
alumni to join and act accordingly.
In addition to this Mr. Preetikant said that already there is a
drafted By-Law in which some addition can be made. This can further
be discussed in the Alumni meet the meeting resolved.
6. Activities to be undertaken:
Sponsorship of Awards: As suggested by Mr.Preetikant and agreed by
the members it was decided to sponsor one award during the annual day
celebration of NISWASS. The theme of the award is yet to be decided.
Career Counseling: Ms Tapaswini suggested to organize a career
counseling , annually, where each alumni can share about their
respective area of profession.
Donation: Mr. Preetikant suggested each alumnus can donate whether
in the form of money to the account which can be spent for the
activities undertaken by the alumni or for the alumni. He also added
that one can also added in the form of kind ( e.g. books)
These were some activities suggested by the members but further
suggestion is welcomed in this regard and will be further discussed in
the meet.
7. Formation of Executive Body:
Mr. Sitakant Tripathy raised the issue of renewal of the body ,
since it was decide to renew the membership every year but Mr.
Simanchal insisted the existing body to carry their duty till the
Alumni meet i.e. 15th of January where the next President and
Secretary can either be elected or selected as decide by the members.
As proposed by the Mr. Simanchal and seconded by Mr. Preetikant
along with the concern of the members Mr. Lalit Soreng was selected as
the Treasurer of the Alumni Association.
