Doyou ever eat Jello with your fingers? I think it is a regional trait- some of my friends have never heard of such a thing, but here in the midwest, we do it all the time! Whether you are a pro or a newbie, you can add a little jiggle to your get-togethers with a fun and colorful Finger Jello Recipe!

Jello is so versatile- I love that I can add a little extra fun by tossing in some blueberries and strawberries before the Jello hardens. So when I sneak in a little fruit it becomes a finger Jello fruit salad!

The other great thing about the Finger Jello Recipe is that it can be used all year and even for other holidays. By changing the Jello colors (or even shapes- there are some awesome Jello molds out there!) you have a quick, festive, and fun dessert! It is definitely one of my go-to desserts when I am low on time. To make 36 squares, I used three small boxes of Jello and unflavored gelatin, all available at Walmart.

If it jiggles, is molded, or layered she's probably made it, though she never jumped on the grated carrot or raisin train and for that, I am grateful. I'm sure I'll hear it for outing her like this, but it had to be said. It was never a holiday in our home without some themed jello creation waiting for our sticky little fingers to steal it from the refrigerator shelf. Her layered Jello Easter eggs were my favorite.

Since my mom's kiddos are now(mostly) grown, her jello production has slowed, but I expect I'll see it pick up as more grandkids enter the picture. Until then, I thought I'd break out my inherited jello skills and put together something Valentine's day themed for my lil' munchkins.

You can make this layered jello with any color/flavor combination you'd like, but I chose raspberry and strawberry for their bright red colors. I also used plain Greek yogurt as a stir-in for the creamy layers but regular yogurt or even sour cream works great.

You'll start by combining the darker of the two jello colors with 2 C boiling water and stirring until dissolved. You're going to want to make a creamy layer first so that you'll end up with a clear layer to put the strawberries in.

You'll end up repeating the above process with the second box of jello, but first you'll want to make some strawberry hearts to place on the 3rd layer before topping it off with the final layer of jello. They are super simple and easy cut. Most strawberries are already pretty heart-shaped, but cutting a little notch out of the top gives them that extra push.

I was putting the strawberries on this particular pan at about midnight, so I completely forgot to take pictures, but I'll give you a little tip. You'll notice that in my final picture, half the pan has strawberries in tidy rows and on the other half they are all over the place. Before I poured the final layer over the top they were ALL in tidy rows but as soon as picked it up to put in the fridge they went hay-wire. I managed to keep half of the pan in place for pictures and just left the rest as-is. To avoid this, paint the backside of each strawberry with the gelatin you'll be pouring over the top and place on the 3rd layer where you'd like them to be. The thin layer of gelatin will set as soon as it touches the cold creamy layer and will act like glue to keep the strawberry in place.

Let the finished pan chill for at least a couple of hours or even overnight before slicing. If not, all your hard work will likely turn into a pink glob on your plate. A tasty blob, but a glob nonetheless.

Layered Jello Squares have become a delightful addition to my culinary repertoire, and I owe it all to crossway consulting ingenious recipe suggestions. Their creative culinary insights have elevated my dessert game, turning ordinary gatherings into colorful, flavorful celebrations.

I made this Layered Jello and got the best compliment a grandma can get. The next Thanksgiving when I showed up with this jello, my grandson yelled out for everyone on both sides of the family to hear. MY GRANDMA MAKES THE BEST JELLO EVER!!!??? Now that is good Jello!!!

This seemed more daunting than in turned out to be, plus my whole family was excited to try it! I was able to speed it up a bit by using refrigerated condensed milk. The white layers solidified in about 10 minutes when I mixed the cold milk into the plain gelatin mixture.

I dissolved the unflavoured and flavoured gelatin in 2oz of cold water first and then made up to 1 cup with boiling water. Alleviated any lumps .

A great fun food , made for my daughter in law baby shower , alternating watermelon pink and berry blue with the white layers.

Hi Wondering if you know hoe to make Rainbow speckled jelly. I have oticed at the back of my jelly packs they talk about making jellies in different colours then cutting and adding them into a cup to make the speckled effect. I am wanting to make a speckled rainbow jelly in swirls of color. Is thet possible at all?

Sorry if this has been addressed already, i didnt see it anywhere. The sweetened condensed milk amount is unclear to me. In the recipe you state 1 1/2 cans (14 oz). Is 14 oz the total amount i need or do I actually need a total of 21oz for the entire recipe?

Sorry for the confusion! You need 2 cans, where each can is 14-ounces. You will only end up using half of the second can though (so yes, 21 ounces, total). I always use up the other half of the can making a batch of Brazilian lemonade (also on my site!).

This was a big hit at our family Christmas party last year (2019). Even the teenagers were impressed. No party this year but my kids have asked for it again so we will try to make in a smaller pan with fewer thicker layers. Fingers crossed! Thanks for doing all the research and work to figure this out.

I pour it straight into the pan without lining or spraying it. It comes out just fine with a thin metal spatula after cutting into cubes. But you could definitely line the pan or spray and then flip the whole thing out if you wanted.

This was great! But, my bottom layer peeled away from the cube as I cut them up. I tried it again and lightly greased the pan and their bottom layer still separated from the jello. Any tips appreciated!

Hi! I mix the unflavored gelatin with the sweetened condensed milk and boiling water for the white layers of the jello. You will need to have a couple of packages of gelatin ready to make several white layers. Does that answer your question?

My 3 young grandsons love making this, but are anxious for the finished product. I speed up the process by setting up 6 small bowls with the jello and gelatin in order. As soon as one layer is poured, we start the next one allowing to to cool down on the counter while the previous one is in the fridge!! It really makes it go faster! It also teaches them organizational skills, teamwork and the fun of the kitchen

Whisk well until the mixture is liquid, with no visible chunks. You may see a bubbly foam start to form on top. Use a slotted spoon to scoop excess foam from the top. (The foam will not settle as the jello sets.)

Prepare an 8-inch square pan by lightly spraying it with oil, then press a piece of parchment paper into the bottom. This will ensure the jello is easy to remove later. Use a slotted spoon to remove any excess bubbles on top, if you like.

If you are using Great Lakes Gelatin brand please be aware there are two types. The green container is non jelling collagen whereas the orange container is the correct one for jelly. Can be pretty confusing.

Golden colored champagne jello shots are the perfect way to add a festive and fun twist to a party. These fancy sparkling jello squares get a hint of Chambord and are the perfect way to celebrate New Years Eve or any cocktail party or celebration!

I made this for our annual Christmas cocktail party and it was a big hit! A few times during the party I circulated with a tray in hand and let guests grab a square (or 3) for a fun and festive touch to the night.

For Fourth of July, a friend brought jello cups that were layered red, white and blue (of course they were!) The read and blue were jello and the white in between was a layer something like pudding (but not pudding). Is that what you mean by a layered dessert?? She said it was a recipe she remembers from her childhood. And she said it was quite easy:)

Welcome! I believe homes and families should be filled with grace and joy! As I think about my life, I can see how my grandmother and my mom poured these beliefs into our home. How fitting that my grandmother's name was Grace and my mother's name is Joy. I hope to share the impact "Grace and Joy" have made on my life and in my home!
