concerts -- Tomorrow! (in NYC) and Feb 17-20 in the Netherlands

There's a lot to talk about, but for now I'll keep to the immediate
future, and pick up the past next month.

Tomorrow, February 8, is the world premiere of Something Else (Music
for Sleeping through Winter). It's at 8pm at St. Peter's Lutheran
Church (619 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street, in Manhattan). The
performers are Esther Noh and Jacob Rhodebeck, who are collaborating
on a recital of works for violin and piano for living composers. The
other pieces on the program are Michael Finnissy’s Mississippi
Hornpipes, John Adams’s Road Movies, and Prisma by another young
composer, Felipe Lara.

Also, a heads-up that Ben Lanz will be premiering Redirect, for solo
trombone, throughout the Netherlands on February 17-20 on the Cross-
Linx Festival, in Utrecht, Groningen, Eindhoven, and Rotterdam.
Precise details about things like times are scarce, but I know that
Ben will be a "Music Miner", and that the program is headlined by The
National (the festival seeks to merge both sides of the classical/pop-
rock divide).
