To all; Scouting youth, Scoutmasters, Cubmasters, Crew Advisers, Team Coaches, Explorer Advisers, Order of the Arrow Advisers and Scouters in general,

Scout Expo 2012 is on!

It is set for Saturday, February 11, 2012 and has been on the calendar for over a year.  Troops, Crews, Teams, Posts and the OA are invited to spend the night Friday and Saturday nights.  Units are encouraged to invite your local Webelos den to spend the night too, they may, however have to return to their packs for various events.

This event will; take the place of our traditional Council Spring Camporee.  So events will be judged and ribbons awarded.  The OA can hold tap outs so that boys can attend the fellowships and conclave.  Saturday night campfire with skits, songs and the like will occur.  There might even be a dutch oven or chili cook off or both, it is February after all.  Many activities are planned, still others to come.

The expo is a public performance of Scouting.  The general public will walk around the grounds and buildings and observe Scouting in action.  Businesses and other public groups will vie for sponsorships and ad space at this event.  This is our time to shine for our communities.  This will coincidentally, aid our recruiting and fundraising too.  So make your unit a part of this event.

This is also, Scout Sabbath and the final day of Scouting Anniversary week.  So come out to celebrate Scouting; be prepared, uniform up, dress warm and enjoy!

Check out the attached sign up form.  The expo committee has been working diligently on this for a couple of months now.  They still need help.  Please contact Allan or Monica Saffle (saff...@sbcglobal.net) for what you can do to make this a successful event.

Scouting deserves the best and you are the best.  Thank you for your time and kind consideration.

Sincerely,

David Elmore
