To all Boys and Adults,
For those who desire to attend the 2013 National Scout Jamboree at Summit Bechtel, here is the registration form from Quapaw, attached. I believe I heard correctly at our last committee meeting that they expect to take a Venture Crew and two Scout Troops and they left the possibility of a third troop opening up.
Quapaw leaders are urging our boys and leaders to register ASAP! You can go to quapawbsa.org or bsajamboree.org for more information. Also for boys and leaders who wish to go but don't want to fill a slot that a boy would otherwise fill you can and should apply for Jamboree Staff ASAP! Same website locations as above.

All are welcome to attend our Roundtable this Thursday night, November 10, 2011 - 7 pm, at First United Methodist Church, 200 North Market Street, Benton, AR 72015. Quapaw District Director Christian Swaim and Quapaw Council Executive John Carman will be in attendance.

I also remind everyone about the American Flag Retirement ceremonies at the Saline County Courthouse in downtown Benton, AR this Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 9:30 am for flag dis-articulation and 11 am sharp for the flag retirements. Please bring your flags pre-dis-articulated or come prepared at 9:30 am with scissors (stripes and star field separated by group and collected together for proper disposal). Do not arrive at 11 am and expect accommodation. The ceremony starts then, the veterans and public do not appreciate tardiness.
Full uniform is expected. Dress warmly. It is a solemn, patriotic ceremony that allows citizens the opportunity to show their respect for their country and their flag. The Boy Scouts and the VFW are the only organizations allowed to conduct this 'burning' ceremony on the courthouse square every year on or near Veteran's Day. Please attend if you can.
