To All Scouters,

You are all welcome.  This coming Thursday night is Cub Scout and Boy Scout Roundtable night.  We have returned to the second Thursday night of each month to align with Quapaw Area Council's meeting night system.  We also have had a venue change.  We now meet at the First United Methodist Church in Benton, (200 North Market Street, right across from the Saline County Courthouse in the Fellowship Hall wing) at 7 pm.  I am sending the usual Roundtable invitation email out to all in the council to allow our friends in Diamond Lakes these networking, meet and greet opportunities as well.  We also invite our colleagues in the Order of the Arrow.  We don't want you to feel left out and we need your input.

We encourage you all to attend and bring a friend.  To let you all know; we will be holding a 'general information' Roundtable asking what people expect from us next year, more merger talk, discussion about the Scout Expo and the final council banquet, and finally rechartering and JTE rather than our usual monthly theme.

Also big news, we will have in attendance this coming Thursday night at Roundtable;  District Director Christian Swaim and Quapaw Area Council Executive John Carman.  Yep, you read right, they have confirmed.  They will answer questions and get to meet our people. Everyone please make your best effort to wear your uniforms.  There will be a Cracker Barrel.

Things being all befuddled by the merger means that this month's and next month's Roundtables will be out of the norm.  We mentioned at the last Roundtable that the units get their re-charters in by December 1st do not wait.  To wait may mean that your unit won't be rechartered (in time) and the BSA insurance coverage won't apply!

Also, at our December 8th Roundtable; Braden Harman, Quapaw's Camping Director will be in attendance (confirmed) to do his spiel about Gus Blass Scout Reservation and all it has to offer our Boy and Cub Scouts, a video, handouts, Q&A, etc.

Of course, January's meeting was cancelled but now that the OA moved their final Wazhazee Lodge OA Banquet up to the 1st Thursday night of January we are back on for the January Roundtable.  So let's show 'em how its done!  I encourage all of you OA members to attend the December, Winter Fellowship (Illuminary down at Old Washington) and the final Wazhazee Lodge Banquet, January 5th (More details to come on this later.).  Your contributions to Scouting are important.

A shout out to Tonya Lynn becoming the newest member of our Cub Scout Roundtable Staff.  Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Don't forget new night and location.

Second Thursday night of each month
7 pm to 8 pm (We're going back to a one hour meeting too.)

It is because of all of you that Scouting is thriving in our districts.  I want to thank you all personally.  Scouting is where it's at!

Thank you all again.

Yours in Scouting,

David Elmore
