For Mumbaikars

Dear all,

The government has recently approved field trials of GM (Genetically Modified) crops in Maharashtra. The trials have been approved for crops like rice, brinjal, maize, chickpeas and cotton.

We are seriously concerned about these approvals as world over field trials have been the source of contamination of regular crops. The introduction and open air release of GM crops could be problematic to human health, food safety, farming, biodiversity, and seed sovereignty. We as citizens need to be fully aware of the implications of this almost irreversible technology .

Please join us to understand the possible impacts of GM Food And GM Seed on our lives. We will be having a short film screening followed by a Talk and Discussion about the way ahead.
