Background:
Wildlife Trust of India is looking
recruit a Field Officer with for its projects in Assam. The post requires
extensive travelling.
Job Responsibilities:
- Point
person for the specific field and on-site implementation of the project
-
Execute
eco-development and alternative livelihood initiatives
-
Scientific
monitoring of the initiative
-
Network
with local NGOs, relevant Government Departments
-
Report
writing, day to day documentation
-
Run a
public campaign at village/ district level
Skills:
- In-depth
knowledge and experience in participatory conservation, eco-development
and alternative livelihood
-
Good
understanding of community dynamics and ability to think fast
-
Experience
in conducting PRA and in preparing micro-plans will be an advantage
-
Good at
carrying out surveys, organizing group meetings and documentation
-
Excellent
communication skills, specially with rural/tribal communities

Fluency
in Karbi/ Assamese
Qualifications:
Graduate degree in a social science
discipline such as anthropology, sociology, social work, rural management,
political science, human geography or equivalent.
Preferable experience:
2-3 years in a similar position,
preferably in north-east India
