Since its first original series premiered (House of Cards, circa 2013), Netflix has transformed the small screen, giving the average weeknight the potential to be pretty extraordinary. Popular movie and TV streaming service Netflix is down Tuesday, according to multiple users. Down Detector reports that Netflix users were experiencing errors as 3:33 p.m. EST. The Netflix outage maps shows a majority of the outages are in the U.K and along the East Coast of the U.S.
At 4 p.m. EST Netflix confirmed its services were down for users. "We're aware of members having trouble streaming on multiple devices. We are investigating the issue. We appreciate your patience," the statement read.

I have same issue. About 3 weeks ago, the video didnt work only netflix and youtube app. I shut down my phone. Unfortunately, it wasnt perfect solution. I also did reset all settings. It seemed to have solved problem completely, but I get same issue now. I want to know which thing occurs this problem, with apps or IOS? No matter what it is, it needs to be updated.
Netflix media representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding which devices were impacted, but a customer service representative said the streaming issue appeared to have been affecting Samsung Blu-ray players for several hours and engineers were working to fix the problem.
A Netflix customer from Riverside, Calif., told CNET that he was watching a movie on a Samsung player when the movie suddenly stopped and that when he tried to restart the movie he couldn't reconnect with Netflix. The subscriber told CNET that the issue had been resolved just before this report was to publish.
The issue arises just days after an hours-long outage affected the movie-rental service earlier this week and on the heels of Netflix's announcement last week of new pricing plans designed to push people away from mail-order DVDs and toward its streaming options. The company's increase in monthly subscription rates on its DVD and DVD/streaming plans was met with a swarm of online complaints from irate customers.
Update at 7:35 a.m. PT July 21: Neither Netflix's Facebook or Twitter pages noted any outage, though the latter did initially respond to a customer who reported the issue. However, Downrightnow.com, which monitors the status of sites, showed an overnight disruption in Netflix service.
Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from several sources including users, said there were more than 17,000 reports of outages, as at 6.41pm Eastern Time (7.41am Singapore time) in the United States.

@marc_downing @netflix It really sucks that you changed the windows app to where you can no longer download movies to watch offline. I work in remote areas a lot with no internet service, and it was great to be able to download titles to my laptop to watch offline. Not anymore. Thanks a lot ?

More than 27 million Netflix members in the Americas may have been unable to access shows or films online due to a problem at Amazon Web Services, which rents out computing power in datacenters in the Internet "cloud."
The Netflix outage began mid-day in California on Monday and lasted late into the night, according to the company. No problems were reported with viewing offerings at Amazon's rival online film service.
"We are happy that people opening gifts of Netflix or Netflix capable devices on Christmas morning could watch TV shows or movies and apologize for any inconvenience caused Christmas Eve," the company said in a statement.
The outage exposed a risk inherent in the trend toward depending on "cloud" servers for services ranging from Web-based email to digital news publications and business tasks long the purview of on-site IT departments.
