Vidya HelpLine Initiates a dedicated toll free helpline 1800-425-2-428 to cater to the career and academic needs of the tribal students, youth and drop outs. The number was formally inaugurated by Smt Divya Devarajan, IAS, (Project Officer, ITDA ) and Sri Sunnaum Rajaiah MLA, Smt Saraswathi, Deputy Director and Sri Chandrashekar CEO,VHL ,Nagesh Palla Manager, VHL on 1st August, 2015. The goal is to address 7,000 call queries from students and drop outs. This initiative will go a long way in helping students get an immediate career help and help them in charting their careers.

Toll free Tele-counselling: A toll-free service, where career info and guidance is provided to students and drop outs over a phone.
In the month of August, 7,730 call queries on education and career prospects from rural students and drop outs have been resolved.

Career Counselling Workshops: These are our outreach programs, where we reach out to the students of SSC grade and expose them to various career opportunities and assist them in their career decisions thereby making them dream BIG!
This month, we organized Career Workshops in 23 Govt schools reaching to 1,251 students.

Messaging Outreach: This is a tech- tinge outreach program, where we use Voice and Text messaging to update our beneficiaries about any latest career / academic information like scholarships, admission dates etc.
The Voice messaging service is exclusively to cater to the career needs of the visually handicapped, as their sources of info are very limited.
This month, 531 voice and text messages have been shot out.

Unemployed Youth Counselling: A program intended for the unemployed youth to connect them to employment opportunities or enabling them to pursue their education.
266 youth have been counselled and 9 youth have been enrolled in various free training centers, and 4 have been employed under various profiles listed by VHL.

Sister gets to pursue Polytechnic, The flair for education nurtured!
Sreekanth from Mahaboobnagar district called to seek guidance for his sister Shivani, who completed her 10th class.He said that his sister was a bright kid and showed a flair for education, and hence he wished she could pursue her Polytechnic course,which was her interest too.So he called VHL to know about admission notification and details of application.
The VHL Counselors guided him thoroughly with the process. Not just that he was also guided with the admission counselling details. With all guidance and support from VHL and efforts from Sreekanth, his sister Shivani got admission in Govt.Polytechnic College, Masabtank which is one of the top Polytechnic colleges in Telangana. He also expressed his profuse thankfulness for the program because of which help walks in with ease for the first generation learners like him and his sister. Let us wish the siblings all the very best!
