Just a quick reminder for an exciting panel discussion on MR Imaging Centre operations tomorrow, and encourage you to share your questions as early as possible:
Date/time: Oct 21st from 11am – 12.30pm EST
Focus: “Behind the scenes look at the practical operations of MR Imaging Centres with QA and QC processes in mind”
https://pitt.zoom.us/j/3750271811
Speakers and panelists include:
NIH: Peter Bandettini, Vinai Roopchansingh, Sean Marrett, John Derbyshire, Linqing Li
MPI: Nikolas Weiskopf, Harold Moller, Robert Trampel, Kerrin Pine, André Pampel, Toralf Mildner
MGH Martinos: Lawrence Wald and John Kirsch
and few other of our dear friends and colleagues as available.
Please join us and ideally share any questions already so we can effectively answer/debate them.
The rough overall goal is to learn what QA & QC processes are employed by different centres and understand their rationale. In doing so we hope to 1) identify any open challenges, 2) learn from each other, and 3) to develop/share/improve best practices.
Thanks,
Pradeep

Thanks Lars for the great questions to the panelists tomorrow! Cc-ing them and few others here.

Subject: RE: [niQC] reminder: operations panel tomorrow

Dear all,
thanks for the reminder. I might not be able to join tomorrow (we are doing some QC at the new scanner, so very much on brand), but I am particularly interested in the following things:
1. Are researchers regularly doing the fBIRN protocol at their sites?
2. Is there an equivalent to fBIRN for diffusion imaging?
3. Is any of the regular QC done in vivo, e.g., for functional MRI or diffusion?
4. What are the QC protocols (e.g., for fMRI) for establishing a new sequence in a lab (testing sensitivity/specificity, on any task in particular?)
5. Are any regular QC protocols using external devices, e.g., magnetic field cameras, or non-imaging calibration measurements, e.g., Gradient Impulse Response Function characterizations?
All the best,
Lars
