The home page mentions a Nipype Slicer interaction module, and links to the 3D Slicer site. However, the Nipype code uses the FSL Slicer utility. 3D Slicer and FSL Slicer are distinct projects. Can Nipype interact with 3D Slicer? If so, how? AFAIK, there is no mechanism to call 3D Slicer from a separate process.

Thanks,

Hi,
Nipype can interact both with the FSL "slicer" tool: http://nipy.sourceforge.net/nipype/interfaces/generated/nipype.interfaces.fsl.utils.html#slicer and various 3D Slicer modules (for example: http://nipy.sourceforge.net/nipype/interfaces/generated/nipype.interfaces.slicer.registration.html for full list see: http://nipy.sourceforge.net/nipype/documentation.html ). We are interacting with 3D slicer through SEM commandline modules.

Best,
Chris
