Hello, I finally managed to get the SPM dartel tutorial running.

I would be very curious to know what the cryptic directory names such as "_con_2_fwhm_4" (as in spm_dartel_tutorial/l2output/level2/_con_2_fwhm_4 ) should tell me, and in fact what kind of experiment this data comes from - I am guessing this might be some famous publication, but while google has a lot to say about DARTEL this seems to be more of a processing term than an experiment.
I am also very curious what I can do with spm_dartel_tutorial/l2output/level2/_con_2_fwhm_4/index.html (opening it in chromium just shows me a slider - I guess the slider should do something?) as well as many other files which I cannot find any documentation on.

Thankfully, I already know what to do with SPM.mat files, and I tried to open spm_dartel_tutorial/l2output/level2/_con_1_fwhm_4/level2conestimate/SPM.mat in SPM, and used some very liberal thresholds. It seems there is not really much signal in there, and the signal that is there is in fun and unexpected places...

Could you help me out? Even if you don't know anything specific about the output files I am referring to, I think some background info on the experiment from which this data is sourced and maybe some figures of what I should expect to see would help me figure out what to do!

Does nobody have any ideas on this? Has anybody used this tutorial?

hi christian,

unfortunately, that tutorial does not use any fancy dataset. the tutorial examples for most part are dependent on simplified tutorial datasets (there are a few exceptions - like spm face and auditory processing tutorials).

i did try checking if there was an available dataset from vbm8 or spm and did not find an obvious pointer. you may want to ask on those mailing lists if there is an example dataset.

cheers,

satra

So where does the data come from? How can I check whether I am seeing what I am supposed to be seeing?

what about documentation for files such as
spm_dartel_tutorial/l2output/level2/_con_2_fwhm_4/index.html

?
