OK, I think web Gmail is being screwy. I run a Google apps script that in part adds my "To-do" label to any thread I manually star, then archives and unstars it. A snippet is below. I'd appreciate any help.

After running the script the thread gets the label and is unstarred, except the star icon next to the thread/message in web Gmail still shows as selected. If I go to Starred messages label/folder nothing is displayed. If I immediately rerun the script it doesn't find any Starred threads. This seems to indicate the script is working OK. The problem seems to be that web Gmail still wants to show it as Starred even though it isn't. Gmail Android app doesn't show the star applied to the thread. Pictures are worth more...

If you refresh gmail and hover over the star, you will see that the popup says it is Not Stared. Also, this seems to be an issue when you select the star from gmail, as stars that are set by my filters work correctly when my script unstars them.

In my sample I avoid the assumption that iterating an array is safe with for .. in.. and use the more expressive Array.forEach() to indicate that the code is something that we want to apply to every thread and every message in said thread.

However, if I run the script again, the thread is found using the search. It doesn't send another copy of the email, however, because I have a check for ".isStarred()" before it sends a copy of the specific email. I have also been able to reduce the number of threads it double-checks by adding a .hasStarredEmails() check to the thread before it starts looking at individual emails.

I had this case. Actually what was happening was I was starring everything that hit the inbox with a filter. Once my script processed the message I unstarred it. But my script was also forwarding the message and that new sent message was being starred by the filter. So the thread still contained a starred message. Argh.

I wrote a script which stars always the last message of a previously starred thread to keep my starred threads with the most recent replies at the top of my mailbox. The only problem is that it's not really working if I star an email manually at the beginning and not with a rule or another script.

These are some of the best Google apps we found during our research. We hope one of these Google Workspace and G Suite apps will be right one for your needs! If you have any suggestions, let us know.

Google Apps (including Gmail) is a cloud based service from Google which includes a set of intelligent apps that allow for users to email, schedule meetings and video conferencing, events and reminders using Google Calendar, create documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more from anywhere. It allows users to store, share and collaborate with anyone, while allowing access to your items in one place, from anywhere

As soon as you receive your student ID number, you can use your Los Rios Gmail account for messaging within Los Rios (to other students and Los Rios employees) only. As soon as you are enroll in and pay for your first class, you can use your Los Rios Gmail to communicate outside of the Los Rios network. Your Los Rios Gmail address is " W" plus your seven-digit student ID plus @apps.losrios.edu. For example, W000...@apps.losrios.edu. To log in to Los Rios Gmail, you must first authenticate your username and password.

New students who apply on or after November 2, 2020 will receive all college and district communication at the email address provided on their CCCApply application. This email address is your default preferred email.

If you were a Los Rios student prior to November 2, 2020, then your default preferred email is your Los Rios Gmail account. You can change your preferred email address to something other than your Los Rios Gmail.

Please note that you will use your Los Rios Gmail address to access important student services, including financial aid refunds. Make sure you memorize your Los Rios Gmail address and use it when prompted.

Though you can use a personal email address as your preferred email account for college and district communications, you will need your Los Rios Gmail account for the Canvas learning management system as well as some other college resources and services.

A student's Los Rios Gmail and Google Apps account is created after a new student submits a college application for any of the Los Rios colleges and the application is successfully processed. Once a student receives their student ID number, they have limited access to Los Rios Gmail. Students will gain full access to Los Rios Gmail and Google Apps once they are officially enrolled in and have paid for classes.

Los Rios Gmail and Google Apps accounts are removed for students who have not had enrollment activity for over two years. If a returning student submits a new application, then their Los Rios Gmail and Google Apps account will be recreated and they will have limited access. They will gain full access to Los Rios Gmail and Google Apps once they are officially enrolled in and have paid for classes.

If you are having trouble logging in to Los Rios Gmail, then it could be a browser issue. If you have a personal Gmail account, then your browser uses "Active Cookies" when connected. You may need to clear your internet cookies and browser cache or use a different browser for Los Rios Gmail.

Los Rios Gmail is a separate account that allows you to send and receive email using the losrios.edu address. If you have your own Gmail account outside of Los Rios, then it will not impact your Los Rios Gmail account, as they are two different accounts.

Google is committed to upholding the privacy of your personal information. There is a contractual obligation in place for Google to strictly respect the privacy of Los Rios students and employees. Google also will not use information in the apps.losrios.edu apps to inform their advertising if Los Rios employees and students use other Google apps. Google has agreed that students' data is subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. Google has agreed to comply with its obligations under FERPA.

We have had reports that users with special characters in their passwords experience problems logging in to their Los Rios Gmail. If your password contains any characters that require you to hold the shift key and press a number at the top of the keyboard, then you may have problems logging in.

Check your spam or junk folder. If you find your "Welcome to Los Rios" email in Spam, then change the settings on your personal email account (either the spam or junk email settings) to accept emails from @apps.losrios.edu. This is sometimes called the "Allowed Senders" or "Safe Senders" list.

When you compose an email in Los Rios Gmail, begin typing your instructor's first or last name in the "To" box. You will see a list of suggested names to select from. To make sure you select the correct name, it's best to type both the first and last name.

Los Rios employees have a Los Rios Gmail account activated by default when their account is created. Any emails sent to your Los Rios Gmail account will be forwarded to your official Microsoft Outlook Exchange mailbox.

As a security measure to prevent potential viruses, Gmail doesn't allow you to send or receive executable files (such as files ending in .exe). Executable files can contain harmful code that might cause malicious software to download to your computer. In addition, Gmail doesn't allow you to send or receive corrupted files, files that don't work properly.

Messages containing executable file types will be bounced back and returned to the sender automatically. Gmail won't accept these file types, even if they're sent in a zipped format. Here are some examples of zipped formats: .zip, .tar, .tgz, .taz, .z, .gz, .rar.

Please move any important data from your Los Rios Gmail account before two years has passed since your last enrollment. Once your Los Rios Gmail and Google Apps account is deleted, neither Los Rios nor Google can retrieve your data.

I'm having active subscription for 8$ / each user, and trying to find a gmail service for already one day. It's basically missing everywhere and I'm not able to turn it on/off. Domain is attached, working and verified.

It sounds like you might have signed up for Workspace Essentials, which does not include Gmail. See =en , as well as the line there that reads "Compare instead: Enterprise editions Education editions Essentials editions" for a comparison of all the various different editions of Workspace and what they include.

i have this exact same issue - I only get shown the 'Enterprise' options, but when I click 'Compare Options' to see the pricing I get taken to the Business subscription options - but if I try to sign up for a Business subscription (with Gmail app included in the subscription) it blocks me as my domain already exists, and I can't merge with my existing account... going around in circles and I'm so frustrated!!

@TonyFreedom - I don't know how you came up with that solution; however I extend my greatest appreciation and gratitude!! It took me over 7+ hours today to bounce around and attempt to find a solution and/or documentation that could assist me with getting access to my Business Gmail account (as the "ADMIN")... Google did nothing to help with it's pointless documentation and lengthy words of nothingness...
If it wasn't for some of the other "apps" that allow us to communicate as a company with users in multiple states, I would abandon this completely!
Thank you again sir for detailed and accurate info that addresses the issue and presents a solution... Google could learn a lot from you

Has anyone found a solution? Same issue for me. Have had the google admin account (email had been working for years) and now I am not able to find the app from the Google Workspace apps. Have changed RX records several times within Godaddy, etc. I am the admin. Have deleted all accounts but the admin account. Nada... Am so frustrated with google. And only need the account for a password reset for a specific platform. Urghhh.
