we use precision cut at my dealer.. you can use any tint you want, but there is a yearly subscription fee just to be able to use the software if you choose that way... I wish it was that you could use up to what you have bought the license for, than buy a new update in a few years when you get more newer cars commin... the 10,000 in llumar film gets you the plotter, computer and software updates free ( rented )... that is what we use here at the dealership I work at because I tint every single car that comes in off the car haulers... thats mainly what that is set up for, unless you are a booming independant shop..
I think the issue is people getting llumar marketing materials and llumar PC, then not actually selling llumar film. There are a few shops in my town with all of the llumar crap out, but they aren't dealers.
the patterns in my opinion are the best out there but for the price I think tint tek is the better deal. you get flexi, paint protection, and windshield templates for the same price as PC's tint templates.
I would go through the film company to get a plotter. they just goin to mark it up more. being that its llumar, im sure they are going to r*pe you just like they do all thier other dealers. I went straight to tint teck
son, are you confusing computer cut with precision cut??? Seems to me that you are. I have had the same 25 degree blade and same strip on my graphtec for over a year and a half, I cut 3 to 4 cars a day 6 days a week. Cut ppf and vinyl with a different blade but my plotter only gets shut off at the end of the day, runs all day long and I cannot tell you the last time ive had an issue with crashing film or cutting thru, just cut 450 window panes this morning for mondays job. just my two cents, seems like your talking about a different program. I have used tint tek but am a loyal dog when it comes to llumars precision cut software. Defintley more user friendly plus you can place patterns however you need to....
