NinjectWebCommon - MVC - Bindings Not Working

I think I'm misunderstanding something.

I've successfully setup my NinjectWebCommon and modified RegisterServices to load my NinjectModule when my MVC5 app starts up. I can debug in my NinjectModule load method and see the bindings are run. I *thought* this would give me a kernel with my bindings that were loaded during startup whenever I new up a StandardKernel. That doesn't seem to be the case though. It seems none of my bindings have taken effect.
