Hi guys,
Quite a few people seem to be asking the project creator about how to pass the demo link as they do not have a web-server. Please be noted - it is not the project creator's onus to get you a web-server.
Here are the following ways you can get one :-
1. Use
https://openshift.redhat.com/app/ . It lets you host PHP apps, not sure about Codeigniter ones. You need to check. You need to use git to be able to push your app. Its ok if you dont know git, if you are smart enough, you should be able to figure it out while setting up your app. You would get a custom url for your app something like -
blabla.openshift.redhat.com - which you can pass to the creator.
2. Use
http://heroku.com . Heroku does not let you host PHP apps, but you can hack through it. Heroku lets you host facebook apps built on PHP. Facebook apps are nothing but standalone apps (for those who dont know). You can start with a facebook app & you would also get a standalone link for your app. I think the PHP app can use any framework & Codeigniter should work too.
3. If you have a credit card (or if you can get one) - get yourself an amazon EC2 instance for free -
http://aws.amazon.com/free . Your credit card would not be charged for an year. But you would need to do the hard work of setting up the complete instance & the OS yourself. This would require decent effort but it would be worth it with the complete server for you, for free for an year.
