Formerly known as A-1 Barber and Hair Salon, we have been in business for over 30 years, and have over 40 years total experience in hair design. We moved and re-invented ourselves as Rumors Hair Studio in September 2012. In addition to our move, we brought on board even more seasoned, well trained and versatile stylists and barbers to accent our already wonderful reputation. Our stylists provide services from trendy haircuts, to multi tonal color, tossled texture waves, down to facial waxing. Have Caitie give you a versatile block color technique, Sam a classic High and Tight, or Stevie an old fashioned shave. Janelle joined us at the Wyomissing Hair Studio in 2021, the same year that she received her cosmetology license. We love the positive, artistic energy that she brings to the front of house and appreciate all of the back of house support she provides the team.

Drea celebrates nearly ten years in the salon industry and almost five with Wyomissing Hair Studio. She loves connecting with customers and seeing the artistry of her teammates, often while holding down the front desk reception area during midweek rush-hour. Holding a BA in English/Professional Writing from Kutztown University, Dre also manages the Wyomissing Hair Studio brand, social media marketing and team communications. Dre is always ready to offer a local recommendation or share your daily horoscope with you as you book your next visit.

Currently a high school senior, Navia attends Berks Career Technology Center for Cosmetology with plans to graduate in 2022. She joined Wyomissing Hair Studio in October 2019 and received her nail technician license in the summer of 2021. Navia is a key player on our salon support team, as she continues to learn the ropes of the industry. You may have had one of her scalp massages which are out of this world! Her interests are nail care, nail art and haircutting. Fun fact: Navia changed her hair color nine times in 2021.

Caela Cummings graduated from the Berks Career and Technology Center in June 2015. She started with WHS in April 2015 as support staff and was soon promoted to our New Talent Team. Caela loves all aspects of hair but really excels in color. She loves the close connections she makes with her clients and getting to know them better. Love. This. Salon. I grew up in Memphis but have had my hair done all over the world and I'll tell you, Chelsea Prince is my permanent-foreva-hairstylist from now on. She gets me. She's laid back, knowledgeable, and honest with me about my expectations. She's done my hair twice now and I've honestly never gotten so many compliments. She did a partial weave with a light pink rinse and I adore it. Her weave placement is just what I asked for, which is important to me. Love her. I sent my best friend to her after my first experience and Emily loved her, too. Definitely would recommend Chelsea at Empire. Two thumbs up.

It was a great establishment! Great atmosphere and great employees! The price, however, was a bit ridiculous.. The price for a haircut was $30. The cut was nice, still a bit long on top but looks good.

LUX began in 2008 when owner Francine moved her already established clientele from Kingston to Saugerties to fulfill her dream of heading her own hair company. After meeting with AVEDA representatives she was able to convince them to partner with her vision to bring quality styling and color products along with cutting edge hair care to the area. And so LUX was born. Francine is a veteran in the Hudson Valley hair world and brings to her guests 22 years of experience and training with brands that include Bumble and Bumble, Paul Mitchel, Rusk and of course AVEDA. The biggest point of difference that a client in her chair will see is her personal approach to hair care. She takes lifestyle and personality into consideration as she tailors her services to her guests unique needs. When you are in her chair she is always educating you, the guest, as well as the stylists around her so that you receive the best care and consistent service from every employee you encounter at LUX.

And this is where LUX founded the education based mentorship program that they use today. This program utilizes every staff member from the beginner to the most experienced to encourage and teach each other about full service hair care and make-up. Everyone at LUX works truly as a team. They are a tight knit group that feels more like a family than a group of co-workers and when you are there you will feel like family too!

Jewels has loved fashion, art and beauty from a young age. After being behind the chair for 15 years as a Master Stylist, she has spent the last 2 years focusing on her love of working with Brides on their special day. She loves creating the perfect style.

Since she was young, Julia has always had a passion for hair and beauty. She attended Ulster County BOCES from 2017-2019, and received her license in January 2020. She has been working as an assistant, as well as behind the chair, and loves to do both. What makes Julia excited about the industry is the ability to connect with people, and to make her clients feel like the best version of themselves. Julia has been going to Maine every summer since she was young, and it is her favorite place to visit, although one of her goals is to travel as much as she can. Julia loves working at LUX because of her amazing coworkers, the beautiful atmosphere and of course, the clients who make each day so fun!
