Plot Summary
Parag Dixit (Neil Nitin Mukesh) is a successful corporate executive who lives happily with his girlfriend Mansi (Mugdha Godse). His life takes a turn when he is arrested for firing at a police officer and possessing narcotics. His friend Keshav Rathod (Jignesh Joshi), a drug peddler, tries to escape arrest by shooting at the police and implicates Parag in the process. Parag is denied bail and sent to jail as an undertrial prisoner.
In jail, Parag meets various people who are either convicted or awaiting trial for different crimes. He befriends Nawab (Manoj Bajpayee), a kind-hearted prisoner who works in the jail library. He also encounters Kabir Malik (Arya Babbar), a convict who works for Baba Bhai (Ravi Kishan), an underworld don who runs his criminal empire from a special cell. Parag faces mental and physical torture from the jail authorities and other inmates. He also suffers from the separation from his loved ones and the uncertainty of his fate.
Parag's lawyer Harish Bhatia (Chetan Pandit) tries to prove his innocence in court, but faces many hurdles due to the corrupt system. Parag's case drags on for two years, during which he witnesses many tragedies and injustices in jail. He loses hope and contemplates suicide. He also asks Kabir to help him escape by contacting Baba Bhai, but Nawab warns him against it. Parag finally gets convicted and sentenced to ten years of imprisonment, of which he has already served two years.
