Richard Alan Fox asked: "I still use Ninerpad on my TX, is there any
possibility of an iPhone version?"

Hi Richard

I've been working on an iPhone prototype (early stage only). What's
your take on entry approach: hand-drawn (as in the original NinerPad),
or typed in?

By the way, I am glad to hear that you are finding NinerPad useful
enough to still use it, months after the last official release. Which
makes me ask: is there anything in Ninerpad that you wished were
different?

Thanks
Alex

Greetings Alex

I think a hand drawn approach is the way to go, I am not sure how else
it would be possible to control with the keyboard. The two apps I
still find useful on the TX are ninerpad and Dataviz Docs to go and
that is because of an external keyboard makes heavy typing easier than
the on screen keys I am now using on my iPhone.
I have a new computer on the Fedex truck to be delivered today,
running 10.6, my understanding is that the synch will not work unless
I use the Mark Space Missing Synch application. The old iMac goes to
my seven year old twins they too like ninerpad. My daughter has an
animation she made using your software on her website, naomidavidafox.com
my little son also asks for the TX just to use ninerpad, a great
endorsement of a great product.
On the iPhone I use Brushes to draw with a Pogo Sketch stylus works
for what it is, but I am hoping to use Ninerpad on the iPhone in the
future.
Best regards and happy coding.

Hi again Richard

Your munchkin is definitely the accomplished artist. :)

But now you are talking about NinerPaint for iPhone, not NinerPad. I
could start another Google group, for NinerPaint, but I will wait
until I have something concrete to show. I had something under way for
the iPhone but it's frozen now -- other more urgent projects -- and I
don't know when I can finish it. I may ask you to test something for
me at some point if you are interested.

By the way, your site, rgbpoetry.com, was the main animation created
by NinerPaint? And if so, did you do it in one clip, but exporting
each shot as a separate gifAnim (using that special option)? When I
wrote that feature ("export each shot as a separate GIF"), I was
thinking of exactly what you have done with your site. I thought this
feature would encourage people to experiment with timing and
composition of animations. An example I never took the time to
implement: using a prime number sequence to set the durations of
successive shots, with each shot telling a part of some kind of story
(e.g., Shot 1: a water drop, leaking from a faucet. Shot 2: someone
who can't sleep. Shot 3: a building at night. Shot 4: brawling cats.
Shot 5: a glowing clock display. etc.).

Anyway, back to our regular NinerPad programming.

Alex
