Andrew -- a ninerpad user and member of this group -- reported a
problem earlier today: ninerpad just wouldn't launch anymore and
reported that one of its (many) databases was missing.

The error check and launch abort part is normal. I had coded it in.
But the cause of that is not.

I am hoping that it may be one of those bugs I found in 1.0R1 and R2,
the bug fixes of which I will introduce in 1.1 tomorrow. If it is not,
however, hence the reason for my post:

* Please remember to hotsync regularly. It's the only thing that can
stand in the way of (data loss related) bitterness and regret.

PS: I will push automatic db salvage ahead of the drawing overview
feature I had slated for 1.2, and will explain how it works later.

PPS: Andrew backs up his data regularly and was able to launch
ninerpad shortly after reporting the problem.
