I have added a tutorials page to the ninerpad web site, at
http://www.ninerpad.com/tutorials.html.

Not much there for now (only 2 tutorials) but one of them may be of
immediate interest to some of you. The "Getting Started - Setup #1"
provides an example of how I originally set up ninerpad to deal with
my daily stuff.

Later tutorials will demonstrate various scenarios and how I interact
w. ninerpad to deal with them.

Thanks
Alex

Alex,

Thanks for getting the tutorials started. The first one does not seem
to complete to me, although I am more than familiar with how to get a
hotsync ID. Anyone else see an early finish ?

The second one is very interesting. I am not sure if it raises more
questions than it answers <G>. The initial part where you set up the
INBOX and Folders is very helpful from a GTD standpoint, as is your
tag setting later. I can now see why you call the folder 1-OFs rather
than NAs, which you us for a workspace later.

I always got confused when I created a new space and it had the same
name as the one I was it. I do not completely follow why it takes so
many taps and entries to create a new space. Seems like it could be
easier. I need to watch it again when I am awake to see what I can
really glean from it.

Thanks Roger, and yes, I want to reduce tap counts to a minimum while
maintaining clarity.

Reviewing the tutorial actually helped me spot a couple of sore spots:

1. adding a folder to favorite would require 4 taps less per operation
if I were to add an "Add to Favorites" checkbox to the "Create Folder"
sub-dialog. I am queuing that right now.

2. space manipulations also seem to require too much tapping. I will
revise the UI to make things simpler.

Thanks
Alex

I forgot to say that, in my GTD planning system, NAs are a superset of
1-OFs, since they include anything tagged with an @:

1. notes in 1-OFs as I always tag these before filing them in there
2. project actions with any @ tag. These do not reside in 1-OFs but
rather in their respective project folders. They will however be
returned by the "? NAs" search operation.
