HiOver the years I have noticed some of my internal gutter clips have come away from the gutter but not all. Is there a tool I can use that will assist in fitting the clip back into the curl of the gutter or do I have to remove everything and start from scratch. I believe the gutter clips that have been used are the internal quad gutter straps

There's no tool that I'm aware of, but you can probably manipulate the clip back into the lip of the gutter. You'll likely need to pry the lip slightly open with multigrips before re-inserting the clip into position. Once it's inside the curl, you can crimp the lip back down on the bracket with the pliers.

If these clips have come undone because of an inadequate amount of them being used to support the gutters' water-filled weight, you might expect the same thing to happen again. Apart from really crimping the lip down and deforming its shape, you'll need to consider what other options are available. As a bit of a hacked solution, you could drill a small hole in the gutter's lip and run a piece of wire attached from it back to the fascia board. You can wrap the wire around a screw and then drive it into the fascia. This might be enough additional support to prevent the clips from detaching again.

Thank you very much for posting those extra photos of your light fittings. I take it that the plastic post has a little nib at the end that twists around to hold the light cover in place. It might be possible to recreate the fitting but with different materials. I propose changing the post with a Ramset 3 / 16" x 16mm RamNut Anchor - 4 Pack in combination with a Pinnacle M8 Stainless Steel Flat Washer - 12 Pack.

The general idea is to remove the plastic post and replace it with the RamNut Anchor which is rubber and putting the washer at the end to serve as the clip to hold the light cover in place. It might take several attempts, but if fitted properly should hold the the light cover in place. Your other option is to contact the manufacturer and inquire about spare parts for your light fitting.

Without an original clip it is hard to know that to use. They clips appear to be actuated by levers behind the light. This or the whitco version might work. -zinc-flyscreen-swivel-clip-offset-8-pack_p0227714

We have just bought our first house and currently renovating. I have removed my evaporative cooling vents to clean. But it seems in the process I have broken the clips attached to it. Are there replacement clips sold at Bunnings? Or will I need to replace the whole vent? Thank you in advance.

Just to clarify, are the evaporative cooling vents you are referring to similar to this Haron 350 x 350mm White Square Plastic Ceiling Vent? If it's possible, some photos of the vent with dimensions for scale would be handy to determine the best course of action.

If it is a Bunnings product, I'd suggest heading to your local store and speaking to the Special Orders team. They will be able to contact the manufacturer to order replacement parts, whether that is a clip or the whole vent.

If it is not a Bunnings product, I'd suggest inspecting the vent for a make and model number and contacting the manufacturer. They will be able to advise whether a replacement part is possible, or whether you'll need to replace the vent.

My builder is wondering if the Flatpax kickboard clips are compatible with the Kaboodle cabinet legs? He doesn't want to screw the kickboards to the cabinets because if there is a leak or massive spill, it takes too long to remove the kickboards.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. We're pleased to have you join us and look forward to hearing more about your renovation project. Sounds like you are doing a full kitchen reno? We'd love to see it.

Unfortunately our resident Bunnings D.I.Y. experts in @MitchellMc and @EricL are not on the site for the next couple of days. Mitch will be back on Friday to assist. If you need more urgent assistance with your product enquiry, we suggest you contact your nearest store. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Been looking for some extra tips for installation of these, on both Flatpax and Kaboodle sites. It appears the clips are not that strong and the kickboard is flimsy and could easily be dislodged after installation.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @cindyh68. It's wonderful to have you join us and many thanks for your question about installing kickboards.

Have you had any issues after installing the kickboards or is this a preemptive investigation? The method of connecting the kickboards is fairly standard and has been used successfully for some time now. I haven't personally come across any issues where the kickboards have become dislodged and am of the opinion that your installation will be long lasting.

I would say that the screws are doing most of the fixing and are what prevent the kickboard from being dislodged. The clips are just used to locate the panel prior to fixing it with screws. If you haven't already seen it, I'll include the Kaboodle installation video for kickboards below. At 1:36 you'll see them place the screw through the bottom of the carcass and into the top of the kickboard.

I apologise for the missing vinyl dots. If you are missing part of your order I'd suggest giving the Special Orders team at your local store a quick call to let them know. We have the Kaboodle Stick On Kitchen Screw Caps - 100 Pack in-store, so hopefully, they'll be able to provide a pack of those for you.

Hi guys, I've purchased a frameless mirror from IKEA ( -mirror-60471021) which I now need to mount in one of my bedrooms on a painted plasterboard wall (studs don't line up with where mirror needs to go).

With the mirror mounting tape, it talks about using the Permastik Isopropyl Surface Cleaner - I was thinking of using the Diggers one instead. But question I have is could isopropyl not strip off the paint? Am I better off using just sugar soap to clean the wall before using the mirror mounting tape?

Just to add to the suggestions made, I recommend having a look at the Ramset 8 x 50mm Universal Anchor - 4 Pack. The other two mounting items you mentioned will also work, however, if you use mounting tape, I suggest using it in combination with Selleys 310g Liquid Nails Mirror Metal And Glass Adhesive. Using the tape by itself will not be enough to keep the mirror mounted.

Please keep in mind the Selleys adhesive must be placed in large fat vertical lines so that it spreads well across the back when pressed across the wall. To hold the mirror in place, I recommend using masking tape on the corners to prevent it from sliding or tipping over while the glue cures. When the glue cures you can take the masking tape off.

If your mirror is quite heavy it would be safer to use the clips that came with the set and if you wish to add more clips, I suggest looking at the Everhang 11kg Spring Loaded Mirror Clips if you're after extra support.

Some DIY and hardware assemblies require R-clips, which are also known as retaining clips. Along with shaft rings and trim clips from the Pinnacle range, they provide a fastening solution that secures components like axles and clevis pins together.
