Using Exposure to view cosmic rays

Thought I would post some feedback on a little project.

1) Cosmic rays are the bane of your life if you are into using a web
cam to take long exposures of a mostly black scene -- read astronomy.

As a physics teacher I am interested in getting a snap shot of this.

So long exposure of a black scene, gain turned right down -- should
see some tracks due to cosmic rays.

Also, Alpha, Beta and possibly Gamma -- will link up the sources from
school
