Call for Volunteers: ISMIR 2026

Hi NIME Community,

We invite you to join us as a volunteer for ISMIR 2026, taking place from November 8 to 12, 2026. This year, we are welcoming online volunteers across our virtual platforms (centered on Slack, Zoom, and Miniconf) at this time and call for on-site volunteers later. Your support will be vital to making the upcoming ISMIR a success. 

Volunteer Roles

• Technical Volunteers: Help manage and troubleshoot the virtual conference infrastructure (Miniconf, Slack, Zoom, and others). Requires early setup support starting in July and tech troubleshooting during conference week.

• Content Management Volunteers: Assist with collecting, verifying, and preparing presentation videos, slides, posters, metadata, and supplementary materials from authors and track chairs. Active primarily August–September.

• Slack Moderators: Engage with virtual attendees, answer platform-related inquiries, manage community guidelines, and facilitate pre-conference engagement. Active starting in July.

• Session and Majlis Assistants: Support session chairs, manage virtual Q&A queues, assist online speakers, and host virtual Majlis networking spaces.

Requirements

• English proficiency.

• Must attend onboarding, training sessions, and periodic coordination meetings.

• Must be active and responsive on Slack during your designated period of activity.

• Must have access to a reliable internet connection. Participation in the Late July Virtual Mock Conference is mandatory for Technical Volunteers, Slack Moderators, and Assistants.

• Enthusiasm for supporting the global ISMIR community!
