Aloha Everyone:

Thanks to the CSJ Board of Directors, our organization is sending the attached letter of concern to Jan Brewer, the Governor of Arizona. Thanks to Hugh Crethar for completing an initial draft of the attached letter and to Beth Durodoye for her editorial suggestions as well as to the CSJ Board members who help finalize the letter.

I will continue to work with Aida Hutz (the co-chair of the CSJ Human Rights Committee) and our ally Dr. Miguel Arciniega at Arizona State University in completing another letter protesting the recent immigration law that was passed by the State of Arizona Legislature and signed by Governor Brewer as well as the recommendation to eliminate all ethnic studies courses in the public high schools in that state.

Social justice counseling advocates are aware that the more letters, phone calls, emails and other forms of communication that can be used to protest injustices such as those being implemented in the State of Arizona the more attention people will give to these issues. With that in mind, I encourage any members of CSJ, AMCD, and NIMC who are inclined to submit their own letters of concern/protest to feel free to use any information contained in the attached letter to supplement their correspondence. .

Thanks again to all the members of our associations who are taking a stand on the reprehensible injustice in Arizona.

In peace and with appreciation,

Michael D'Andrea
