Aloha Richard, Lynn, and Marchetta:

I hope you all are well and want to initially thank you for your leadership and contributions in making ACA as strong as it is as the world's largest professional association for counselors.

I am also writing to you to solicit your feedback and support for the very serious crisis occurring in the State of Arizona. Details of these concerns and suggestions for possible actions are included with the attached memo. I would greatly appreciate your response to the stated concerns and suggested action strategies as soon as time allows.

Finally, you will note that I am including copies of this email and the attachment to the members of three groups which I am a member and work with. I want to be sure you do not misinterpret the purpose in doing so. I think the three of you of you have noted the open manner in which I operate in our past interactions. My efforts to consistently be transparent in this way is anchored in a commitment to foster open and democratic practices and communications in organizational situations.

I realize that this clarification may not be necessary given the many experiences I have had with you in different organizational settings, but I did want to clarify this point to avoid and misinterpretation that could have otherwise ensued.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of the suggestions made with the attachment.

In peace and with appreciation,

Michael D'Andrea
CSJ President
