Following on our announcement of the release of nimble 1.4.0 and the new nimbleQuad package, we've made a couple blog posts that highlight NIMBLE's new functionality.
This
blog post on derived quantities gives an overview of how to specify
derived quantities to calculate or record additional quantities of interest (e.g., log probabilities) during the iterations of an MCMC.
This
blog post on nimbleQuad gives an overview of functionality in the new nimbleQuad package, in particular a new INLA-like deterministic posterior approximation, plus the Laplace approximation methods that used to be in the nimble package itself.
