Hello,

I'm considering to use Markdown for all my writings and since Pandoc has the
best support for stuff like slides, citations, bibliographies etc. I wonder
what would be pro/cons of using Pandoc's markdown vs python-markdown within
Nikola since the docs say: "Using Pandoc for reStructuredText, Markdown and
other input formats that have a standalone Nikola plugin is not recommended as
it disables plugins and extensions that are usually provided by Nikola."?

Another concern is the old blog post
(https://getnikola.com/blog/markdown-can-affect-performance.html), but based on
Roberto's comment: "Turns out this was the case and it was fixed later on,
making the markdown compiler slightly faster than reSt." it looks that there
are no more performance considerations when using markdown markup?

Sincerely,
Gour

That comment about performance was about python markdown, not about pandoc.

Thank you. What about the 1st point, any cons in using Pandoc/markdown in
Nikola?

I don't know, I use some markdown, and I think we are supporting it fully, don't use pandoc.
