US Papal Visit 2008

I haven't been able to make it to the past couple of group meetings
but some of you may have remembered that I was planning on going to
see HH Benedict XVI in New York City when he would come to visit the
US for the first time. Well I'm finally back in town and brought back
some photos I wanted to share of His Holiness' visit as I managed to
get a couple of tickets for street level access to the Mass being
celebrated at the Cathedral of St Patrick for the third anniversary of
Pope Benedict's inauguration as vicar of Christ and 200th anniversary
of the Archdiocese of New York City. It was a great experience being
around so many other faithful waiting for the opportunity to see Pope
Benedict even if it was just for a few moments. After waking up at an
ungodly hour of the morning and waiting in line for a couple of hours
before being able to settle into place we witnessed His Holiness'
arrival, celebration of the Mass, and finally on the Popemobile
afterwards as he waived to the crowd of thousands. It was hard to get
a good shot but anyone who's been to NYC before knows that the streets
are packed full of people all the time! Enjoy and may God bless you
