It isn't exactly breaking news that Google seems to not care one bit about Groups anymore, so a while back we began looking for a new home. After considering a few options, we've settled on ProBoards whose groups software seems much better than what Google's offering has become.

Hi all,

After a long silence we intend to continue the project. Starting with a discussion on the new ProBoards forum about the project's continuation, including discussions about the possible use of the C programming language. This moment really provides a good oppurtunity to discuss any architecture changes that may be desirable or things we need to pay attention to in the future.

We are grateful for the support and interest that all members have provided over the last couple of years, and we hope that you may continue to provide your support on the new forum.
