Hallo Stefan, Danke für die schnelle Antwort!
I am experiencing the same issue reported by other Night Clock app users: the app screen turns off at a random time during charging. This is a critical problem, as we rely on the screen to display the time when we wake up, not a blank screen. If unresolved, the app becomes unusable for its intended purpose.
From my testing, the issue seems related to Battery Protection mode on my Samsung S23 running Android 16.
A temporary workaround is to use a third-party app such as Caffeine, which can keep the screen on indefinitely or for a set time. However, this requires an extra clicks every morning and is inconvenient.
Have you considered this issue? Is it possible to fix it? I can extract and send you the clock app information if that would help. What we need is for the screen to stay on and display the clock even after charging stops.
With regards,
A formerly happy user of Night Clock,
Gagik Baghdasaryan
Ah! Now I understand clearly — your S23 charges up to 80% (likely due to the battery protection feature) and then stops charging, and at that moment the screen goes off. You want the screen to stay on even after charging stops. ✅
Yes, you can do that, but it’s independent of charging — you need to keep the screen on using the system settings or apps:
This keeps the screen on while charging, but it might turn off when charging stops. Still worth trying:
(Note: “Stay awake” works only while charging, so this alone won’t help once charging stops.)
(This will keep the screen on after charging stops, for that duration.)
Apps like Caffeine or Stay Alive! can force the screen to stay on indefinitely, even after charging stops.
💡 Summary:
The system doesn’t automatically keep the screen on when charging stops — you need to use a third-party app or max screen timeout to achieve this.
If you want, I can give you a step-by-step setup using Caffeine to keep your S23 screen on after charging stops. Do you want me to do that?
