I have this issue too, it's terrible! I take a photo with perfect manual settings, then tap on it to see it and after one second of seeing the original it automatically gets enhanced, you're not able to undo this
Basically it's a "feature" built into to phone chip by Apple and you can't undo it. All you can do is shoot in RAW (and have every single pic be 20 -30 MB). Congrats, Apple. Way to go. This is the worst scenario for photographers.
Let me tell you its not a feature iam using my first iphone 13 pro at first i too annoyed about this then I studied about it and i have a solution its not a inbuilt camera feature or any algorithm just go to settings > photos> turn off view full hdr. Thats it your all photos will show normally so its not the issue of camera its the issue of photos app. Thank you
So this is to force ppl to buy the IPhone 13 Pro? Absolute garbage auto enhance.. My photos from iPhone 4 and 7 looked far better. These photos look like someone who just discovered HDR and turned it all the way up. Or like if you max out the brightness editing control. This os enraging especially when this phone is sold for its amazing photos!
Oh man.....Thank you for finding and posting this. This problem was driving me nuts using the stock Apple camera app and the Photos app! I resorted mostly to using the ProCamera app from Cocologics, but there are some features in the Apple camera app that I still like and use so I bounce back to it often, and then see that crazy result in the Photos app with the auto-brightened photos. Finally, with this setting off, freedom! :)
Have you had a chance to review your iPhone Camera settings and change them as needed? If not, you may want to start there. You may want to review your Scene Detection settings, Lens Correction, and Photographic Style. Here's how: About the Camera features on your iPhone.
Since ios17 was introduced the notifications of the arlo app are hardly audible because apple has changed the default sound of notifications to one with a much lower volume. This makes it impossible to hear notifications while sleeping when people trespass our property. Arlo : when will you build in a custom sound possibility for notifications.
They have, you need to update your apple device to IOS 17.2 the then on your device go to settings, sounds, default settings then choose the sound you want to use for arlo, also make sure on your arlo app you have chosen default OS tone.
I have searched the community on this website and have found NOTHING that works in terms of changing the Arlo motion notification sound on my iPhone. The option is simply not there. I have a 6-month old iPhone 14Pro and iOS is up to date. My dogs go nuts every time they hear this noise as the associate it with motion caused by: the mailman, UPS, neighbors, and even the neighbor's cat at 2am.
I don't know about others but I've invested quite some money in the system of verisure that only works with arlo cameras. And I don't just have another 1000 euros lying around waiting to be spend on another security system. I don't feel like throwing 1000 euros down the drain. I feel they owe it to me as a customer to give me a good trustworthy system that will warn me when people are trespassing
@Brendafromsp I do not use a verisure alarm system, but I own an echo show and an echo studio. Together with alexa app and the Arlo skill, you can configure which camera will send notification to which echo. The only thing is, every movement will send a notification. The Arlo skill is ignoring my sensitivity settings of the cameras. As a workaround and to get noticed at night it helps
Thank you for your answer. If anyone here has verisure and an echo please test this workaround and let us know if this works in combination with verisure. Buying one echo would be so much cheaper than a complete new alarm system.
The IOS17 sound has made Arlo cameras extremely dangerous. Any suggestions for alternatives? Ring, Simplisafe, others? Just upgraded this year with 5 cameras and now have to go to another service for safety reasons. This should have been an emergency fix and Arlo should have dealt with it in 1-2 days with a notice going out to Iphone users.
Emailed CEO and CIO tonight. Pretty sure I got the right email addresses. Will see if they reply. This is a very serious issue and the responses on this thread from Arlo are very patronizing. Will give it a week for reply and pretty sure I can get emails to the board.
When I spoke to Apple support they said that iOS 17 update did eliminate some of the sounds that were previously used when apps send notifications. When I spoke to the ARLO support team they said they were unaware of any issues. So clearly ARLO support in uninformed and behind in training their team as to this problem. As a resolution ARLO is requesting that I obtain and e-mail from Apple Support which says to the effect that there are no issues on Apples iOS17 and it is running as it should. This gamesmanship leaves the customer in a terrible position. I find it unusually odd that ARLO does not want to be proactive. They need to update their App to allow sound notification adjustments.
Exactly so the issue is with the Arlo App as they were informed from the customers well over a month ago yet Arlo are too lazy and completely useless to do anything about fixing their app notification sound major issues.
For personalized support specific to the Arlo products you own, access Support from within the Arlo iOS or Android App. Simply login to your Arlo App, go to Settings, Support, then select the Arlo product you would like support for.
The affected apps are just using the "Back Camera" so you'd expect iOS to automatically select the correct lens based on autofocus. Especially when you're using the browser to show the camera stream, it's not like you can specify which lens to use. The only options you get are "Front Camera" and "Back Camera". I'm guessing it must be a software issue with iOS.
What is it going to take to get some traction on this with Apple? My return window is closing for my iPhone 14 Pro and this problem is a whopper! I can't believe Apple haven't recognised it or released a fix yet.
Does the 13 Pro switch between cameras automatically for close shots? I only have a 14 Pro here, it did automatically switch before updating to 16.0.2. Now I'm curious what the 13 Pro behavior is, whether it does the automatic camera selection.
Essentially the solution is to use the minimumFocusDistance property of the capture device to derive a videoZoomFactor to make sure the users hold the phone at a larger distance than the minimumFocusDistance.
I was bitten by this bug on my state digital driver license app and can't add a digital ID to my new phone. Later in testing, I noticed this issue with my barcode scanning apps that the minimal focus distance has dramatically changed. Thankfully I haven't heard from users but I have to image this is causing issues and likely negative reviews. I'll test out the link to the 2021 WWDC video and article and will see what changes can be made to fix the barcode scanning framework I use. I guess this justifies the purchase of new hardware vs only testing in the simulator ?.
Wow still happening with IOS 6.2 on iPhone 14 Pro. Considering the price point of this device and the excruciating pain involved in switching from Android after 20 years, this is really unacceptable. Should I get some Android developers to help fix this?!
correct, every 3rd Party App is caused by this issue. This is my first comment and will probably my last one.My first Iphone in my Live.Need to ident my self my Online Ident Services .On my Desk:Apple Macbook pro M2 = camera is not good enough.Apple Iphone 14pro = App from our German identifier Service is using the apple API for the Camera = no focus.so frustrating. There is no! possibility to Video ident with an Apple Device.Thats the sad Reality.5 month -> known issue.
You know, I am very confused by this focus issue in web apps. Latest version of ios on an ipad with lidar and video appears blurry under many conditions. It would be very helpful for apple to allow other browsers to run natively, so developers can compare results and perhaps recommend browsers accordingly.
Still having this issue today with iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 16.5.1. It's been reported by my customers and replicated in test. No reported issues or problems in test from earlier models of iPhones.
Sensitive Content Warning helps you avoid seeing unwanted images and videos that may contain nudity by initially blurring them. It works in Messages, with AirDrop files, in FaceTime video messages, and in the Phone app when receiving a Contact Poster. This feature is optional and you can turn it on in Privacy & Security settings. All image and video processing occurs on your device, meaning that neither Apple nor any third party gets access to the content.
Starting with iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5, apps are required to ask your permission when they want to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. You can change your preference for any app or prevent apps from asking for permission entirely in Settings.
See at a glance what your apps have been up to when you turn on App Privacy Report. A section in Settings shows how often your location, photos, camera, microphone, and contacts have been accessed during the last seven days. It also reveals which domains apps have contacted. Together with Privacy Nutrition Labels, this feature gives you a more complete picture of how the apps you use treat your privacy.
