Dear Colleague,

As a key stakeholder in the Volunteerism and Development Sector, you are hereby invited to participate in the ongoing Survey to review/revise the National Policy on Volunteerism for Nigeria in order to ensure inclusivity and deepened citizens’ engagement in the Volunteer Process.

The Survey was developed as part of Nigerian Government's Consultative Strategy to get key stakeholders' contributions in the Revision of the National Policy on Volunteerism for Nigeria and Development of an Action Plan for Implementing the Policy across Nigeria.

The Policy which was last reviewed in 2012/2013 will provide a national blueprint for Volunteer Engagement and Management in Nigeria under the leadership of the Nigerian National Volunteer Service (NNVS).

The Survey is the first stakeholders’ consultative activity under the revision process geared towards eliciting inputs from Nigerian citizens and stakeholders in volunteerism, some of whom will be invited to the Volunteer Policy Lab that will be held in Abuja on January 27, 2020 to finalize the revised draft.

The Policy Revision process is being undertaken by a national consultant: Barr. Nkiruka Nnaemego-Okonkwo with funding support from Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO Nigeria) on behalf of the Nigerian National Volunteer Service (NNVS), United Nations Volunteers, Fresh & Young Brains Development Initiative (FBIN) and other member organizations of the National Thematic Group on Volunteerism in Nigeria.

The Survey will take a maximum of 10 minutes to complete. Be assured that your participation in this Survey is completely voluntary and beneficial to the entire Policy Revision Process as your inputs will be integrated into the policy document before finalization and submission to the Federal Government.

Your information will be coded and will remain confidential. If you have questions at any time about the survey or the procedures, you may contact [Nkiruka Nnaemego-Okonkwo] via email fbin...@gmail.com  or call [+2347066817374].

Your participation in the survey is also beneficial to you as your details will be included in the finalized Policy as well as the National Database for Volunteers and Volunteer Involving Organizations (VIOs) for future engagement in the Volunteer Policy Implementation process in Nigeria.

Finally, we will be glad if you can share this information with your networks and partners (individuals, organizations, enterprises) so they can also apply.

Thank you very much for your time and contributions to the Survey.
