Tackling Missed and Misdiagnosis of CVD in Women

On 22 April, WHF participated in a roundtable discussion on late, missed, and misdiagnosis of CVD in women convened by the Global Heart Hub. The event provided an opportunity to listen to patients with lived experience, identify roadblocks to better standards of care, and brainstorm concrete actions to improve equitable outcomes and include more women in clinical trials.

WHF at the 1st ICPPA Conference

WHF joined the first International Conference on PEN-Plus in Africa from 23-25 April 2024 in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, on the management of chronic and severe non-communicable diseases. Diverse stakeholders, including Ministries of Health from the African region, gathered to discuss challenges and approaches to improving chronic disease care in the African continent.

World Health Day: Visualizing Health Equity
 
According to the World Health Organization, the proportion of the population not covered by essential health services decreased by about 15% between 2000 and 2021, with minimal progress made after 2015. To mark World Health Day on 7 April, we teamed up with artist Nick Seluk, also known as Awkward Yeti, to develop a comic strip highlighting the importance of achieving universal health coverage. Our message was clear: Everyone should have access to the health services they need, when and where they need them, without suffering financial hardship.
