Subject: WHF announces new CEO and COO Leadership

Dear Members and friends,

The World Heart Federation (WHF) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new CEO, Mr Finn-Jarle Rode, and extends a very warm welcome as he joins the team.

Mr Rode brings a wealth of experience in strategic management and team leadership, much of it steeped in development, capacity-building, negotiation, forging partnerships, and humanitarian assistance. His roles to date reflect experience with impactful organizations such as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, The Hepatitis Fund, and The Oslo Center.

Bringing strong executive management, a business background and leadership of people-centred initiatives will invaluably serve the cardiovascular community and strengthen WHF’s global voice to resound even further.

"It is a true honour to take up the mantle of CEO of such a globally recognised organisation as the World Heart Federation, an organisation spearheading cardiovascular health for all. I am committed to striving with the entire team to further its mission," said Finn-Jarle Rode.

"WHF is delighted to welcome Finn Jarle-Rode into our global cardiovascular and health community, with the full support from our strategic partners and member societies and foundations. We look forward to exponential growth and contributions in his leadership," said Professor Jagat Narula, WHF President.

Finn-Jarle Rode will take up his position 1 May 2025, with Borjana Pervan serving as the Chief Operating Officer. Our Science Advisor Pablo Perel will remain as the interim CEO until Mr Rode joins WHF.

Sincerely,
The World Heart Federation
