* ALEMBIC PHARMACEUTICALS: Has restarted manufacturing operations at its Panelav manufacturing unit.

* BALLARPUR INDUSTRIES: Has reported Apr-Jun consolidated sales of 12.25 bln rupees, and net profit of 378.7 mln rupees.

* CLUTCH AUTO: Plans to sells its Faridabad unit and use the proceeds of the sale to reduce debt.

* DEEPAK FERTILISERS & PETROCHEMICALS CORP: The company's planned $350-mln ammonium nitrate manufacturing project in South Australia has been cancelled due to technical and environmental issues.

* GATI: May rope in a strategic partner for its shipping division.

* ITC: Chairman Y.C. Deveshwar sold shares worth around 470 mln rupees on Aug 23 and 24.

* KINGFISHER AIRLINES: The company's operations have been disrupted as a section of its pilots went on strike to protest non-payment of dues.

* LANCO INFRATECH: Is in talks with private equity firms Bain Capital and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts to sell stake in its power business.

 

* LARSEN & TOUBRO: Sees 30% growth in orders from the hydrocarbon sector this financial year. The company hopes to get 100-bln-rupee orders from upstream, mid-, and downstream companies, and even fertiliser companies.

* MERCATOR: Is looking to expand its shipping fleet and coalmines portfolio. Has received shareholders' approval to raise $50 mln.

* MPHASIS: Has reported a year-on-year rise of 7.2% in May-Jul consolidated net profit to 2.09 bln rupees, and a 4.8% increase in net sales to 13.55 bln rupees.

* OIL AND NATURAL GAS CORP: Arm ONGC Videsh is in talks to buy shale gas assets in the US and Canada but the company's Iran investments are impeding closure of the deals.

* ORCHID CHEMICALS & PHARMACEUTICALS: Will sell its penicillin and penem active pharmaceutical ingredients business and its manufacturing unit in Aurangabad to the US-based Hospira for $200 mln.

* RAJ OIL MILLS: To issue 20 mln warrants at 12 rupees each on a preferential basis. These warrants are convertible into equal number of shares of 10 rupees each.

* RICOH INDIA: Has decided to seek shareholder approval to delist the company's shares from the BSE.

* SATYAM COMPUTER SERVICES: The Authority for Advance Ruling has ruled that the $125-mln class action suit settlement by the company is taxable.

* SESA GOA: Has received a directive from the Goa State Pollution Control Board to halt operations at its Navelim metallurgical coke plant in the state.

* SKS MICROFINANCE: Has allotted 4.45 mln shares to promoter Kumaon Investment Holdings.

* TATA MOTORS: Has completed the first phase of a plan to start commercial production of a car that runs on compressed air.

* TECH MAHINDRA: BT is likely to sell around 7.17 mln shares of the company through block deals Thursday.

* TULIP TELECOM: Fitch Ratings has downgraded the company's rating from 'junk' to 'default' following its failure to redeem its $97-mln outstanding foreign currency convertible bonds.
