Dear Prof. Ajit Kumar Khare,

I hope this message finds you well.

I'm writing on behalf of the Gujral Foundation to bring to your attention an open call we believe would genuinely interest your graduating students and alumni.

This September, The Gujral Foundation and Artdemic are presenting Material Matters — a salon-style exhibition at Gujral House, curated by Alaiia Gujral, celebrating five years of Artdemic. The exhibition brings together artists, architects, designers, photographers, writers, ceramicists, and makers from across India around the themes of materiality, craft, and contemporary practice.

Gujral House will be transformed into eight distinct material worlds:

Photography · Architecture · The Word · Painting · Fibre Arts · Ceramics · Sculpture · Design Objects

Selected works will be displayed in a domestic, lived-in setting and made available for acquisition. Participating practitioners will be featured in the Artdemic Catalogue and will have the opportunity to present their work to an audience of collectors, gallerists, curators, architects, and designers. A portion of the exhibition's proceeds will support craft communities across India.

We believe this is a particularly meaningful opportunity for recent graduates and emerging practitioners — a chance to exhibit work developed through their academic practice in a professional, collector-facing context, and to begin building relationships within India's contemporary art and design ecosystem.

The open call is open to practitioners at all career stages, based in India.

Application Deadline: 30 June 2026

Short introduction: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZDU8lHzInv/

We would be very grateful if you could share this opportunity with:

• Final-year and recently graduated students
• Alumni networks and mailing lists
• Faculty who may wish to nominate students with relevant ongoing or completed projects

If it would be helpful, we are happy to provide a ready-to-share brief or social media assets for your internal communications.

Thank you for considering this — we look forward to the possibility of welcoming your students and alumni to Material Matters.

Warm regards,
Kashish Kochhar
