Hi everyone Shadowbane here and as some of you know I have recently switched from Windows to Linux (running Linux Mint 19.3). Now that I have gotten the introductions out of the way:smile: I will get down to the reason I am creating this post.

If it saves the profiles to the hardware a workaround, though not perfect, would be to get a windows machine (maybe a VM?) and do all your adjusting there and then just use it like normal on linux. You still wont be able to change it at will but it will at least have the settings you want permanently.

Hi, @SesameStreetThug Thanks for the reply, I know about the Open Razer project and the front end project Polychromatic. Unforchantly Open Razer and Polychromatic only get me one third the way to accomplish my goals. Maybe I should contact the developers of both projects and find out what they need to speed up the development of their projects. And then start a go fund me effort.

This is a very stupid hacky over complicated version, but you might try setting up a windows vm, using the usb pass through option in your vm hypervisor with your mouse/keyboard (one at a time) and then apply the lighting settings you want, the basic stuff should be stored in memory of the device.

@SesameStreetThug, @Zibob I just had an idea, I have Windows 10 on an external USB drive that will boot up Windows 10. I could load up Windows 10 do whatever I need to do and then boot into Linux Mint. I have spent all day trying to figure out this problem. The possible answer was staring me right in the face. See what happens when you commit to ending your dependence on Windows, it blocks all easy solutions.

The other 66.6% is the lack of creating gaming profiles and limited abilities to make macros that are useful. I will wait a few days before I mark this as solved. I want to try my idea first and see if it will work.

I realize you are right, it would be easier to get Open Razer/Polychromatic to do what I want than develop wine to run synapse. I bet the reason Open Razer and Polychromatic exist is because of the fact Wine would be so much harder to developed to run Synapse. I guess I am just impatient, I want what I want now not 5 to 10 years later. I guess I will only accomplish my goals by either setting up my macros in Windows save them to my mouse and keyboard, and hope I can get them to work somehow in Linux Mint, or reach out to the developers of Open Razer and Polychromatic, see what they would need to speed up development, then start a Go Fund Me campaign.

no need to, this happens with a empty file. Problem persisted even after doing a clean Mavericks install. After that I installed Rhino and worked well, then synapse and worked well with out opening Rhino. The I opened Rhino and illustrator CC and system crashed.

For the steps to duplicate the problem is this:
I boot my computer, open Rhino and Alt+tab to switch to Finder and search for any rhino file, double click and the file opens. Alt+tab several times rapidly and every thing works fine. Profiles for the Razer gear change, because in the upper left corner profile names show depending on the app that is active.

Now with Rhino selected, open iTunes just to hear some cool music to work with. Switch to rhino again, and then back to iTunes, and the back to rhino, and at some point problem will occur. The other app can be any other, because it not only happens with iTunes. Indesign, illustrator, CS6, CC, you name it.

Followed some steps Razer support recommended but nothing worked.
Uninstalling the Synapse software will make my workflow slow, so currently
If I need to work with Rhino I use the app alone. Music now comes from the iPhone. And finish the work in Rhino, close it, and open the other apps.

As I suggested, completely uninstall the Razer drivers, and then run Rhino and Illustrator and whatever else you normally run. I guarantee that you will stop having system crashes. Rhino certainly can crash during this test, but Rhino crashing is not going to take down the entire system.

One, protecting applications from corrupting other applications and from corrupting the operating system is a core part of any modern operating system, including OS X. However, device drivers, when installed, become part of the operating system, and they are then able to corrupt the operating system and cause a system crash.

That was my thinking process too, but then I asked around discord and group of friends and i had plenty of people tell me they have been using macros similar to the one i discussed in this post for over 5 years and still got no bans or even warnings, so i assume blizzard dont want to allow it but they cant detect as good as they want to.

Castsequence macro: cast mindblast > mindblast > smite, if you have 1 mindblast charge the macro will be stuck until mindblast comes off cooldown to continue cycling or ofcourse you add a reset=time. you will always have to specify the number of mind blasts in the macro.

Razer synapse macro: it will cast mindblast and if mindblast is off cooldown the cast is successful and the cast go through, it will continue you cast mindblasts until its on cooldown which then it will revert to casting smite always because the macro clicks mindblast and then waits 0.015 seconds and then clicks smite. This basically creates a conditional, ( If(mindblast is off cooldown) cast mindblast elsecast smite )kinda thing

I was thinking that my Raedon driver was crashing with no error, but it was my razer synapse. Uninstalled synapse and no more crashing to desktop. I'm 100% all my crashing was synapse, hope this help others as well. Good luck

Good afternoon @EA_Kent I am happy to say its fixed. I had a memory stick that was just a little off. Windows and other games run fine, but mem86 showed some errors with one of my memory sticks. Replaced my ram with a new set, also a tad slower just for good measure 3200mhz to 3000mhz to ease the memory controller a little. Game has been running smooth for about 3 days without crashing back to the desktop. Word of advice to anyone that is having the game crash back to desktop with no errors to test the system memory with something like mem86. I was able to play Apex and other games just fine, but this game would crash back to desktop without any errors randomly. Razer Synapse software runs just fine with BF2042 @EA_Kent Thanks for checking in on us, nice to see that someone cares.

Hello @EA_Kent , sorry I've been slow to post back due to testing on my end. I wanted to get this right not just for me but others who want to play the game. I started getting crash to desktop once again with the razer software not installed. All up to date drivers and fresh load of windows 10 and 11 and 6800xt as well as the 6900xt. Due the the randomness of the crashing I started looking at my memory, and tested it with mem86. It passed all test, but I was not convinced that all was good. My 5900x supports up to 3200mhz memory, and thats whats in my system with docp enabled along with resize bar. I ordered new ram but slower ddr4 3000 instead of 3200. Just trying to give a little head room to the memory controller, Maybe I didn't win the cpu lottery and just have a weak chip. I installed the new memory with docp and resize bar turned on, and retested once more with all test passed. fresh load of windows 10 and all up to date drivers and as of today I have not had any crashing to the desktop, little over 48hrs now. I also installed the razer software and all is good, I also tested the roccat software which work fine as well. I would like to give it a day or two more just to be safe, before I confirm its fixed. Game is smooth with 6800xt and 6900xt with resize bar on and docp enabled. As of today the radeon driver I'm testing with is Adrenalin 21.10.2 along with chipset driver 3.10.08.506 from amd's website. Thanks for your question @EA_Kent, I will post a up date over the next two days.
