ThiswikiHow teaches you how to call someone using the voice dial function on an Android phone. You can voice dial anyone in your contact list using Google Assistant which can be accessed using the Home button or the lock screen.
So far I haven't been able to figure out how to do voice dialing (in car etc.). I've read that you can use Google Voice Search, but this fails if there is no data connection (and why do I need to send data to Google for an internal operation like this?).
It seems that the 'google voice search' way is the only method on this phone, so I've tried it out. However it doesn't seem to work for me (just comes up with 'did you mean', and a list of unrelated terms) - perhaps its an accent thing. So I'm still looking - currently I'm unable to dial while driving, which is pretty important to me.
Unlike most voice applications on the the market which requireinternet connection, this application installs a light-weight speechrecognizer on your phone, so it can run locally WITHOUT internetconnection. You can make your own speech commands to start an app, call a friend or browse a website. Speech commands can be defined byphonetic alphabets, so it literally supports any language.
Voice commander works ok..it is slow and clunky. but it is better than nothing. I would like to take the salesman out and beat him to a pulp for upgrading me to a phone that will not do what my old one did easily.
We currently have a system running Ignition 8.1 vision at one of our plants. I have them setup with the voice notification module which utilizes a Grand stream Handytone (HT-813) which dials out to a phone line which works great. Unfortunately, at another location with an identical setup, the phone line keeps getting cut. Our first solution is that we used a Moxee cellular home phone base station with our AT&T sim card with the grand stream. This solution works for calls that Ignition makes outgoing, but when prompted to press any key to continue nothing works and it does not recognize the key presses. I found this same issue when we tried using this base station with a dialog elite dialer. Outgoing call would work but you could not acknowledge alarms as it seems no key presses are recognized.
My team is trying to come up with a cellular solution that we could use instead of depending on a phone line. Possibly bypassing the grand stream all together. The kicker here is that company policy states that none of our SCADA networks (HMI, PLC, Radio) can be connected to the internet. Dialers are excluded as there is no perceived threat if someone gained access to our dialers.
Has anyone run into this issue? Any solutions out there that others have used given the same limitations of not being exposed to a non-local network? I like the idea of using a cellular gateway but have to ensure there is a wall of security as the cell network is exposed.
We are aware of similar issues and composed this document to help troubleshoot these kinds of problems. One thing I would like to point out is the FXO port. To recognize DTMF tones the FXO Port tab settings for the "Preferred DTMF method" should be set to "RFC 2833" (DTMF payloads).
The following document explains how to configure the Grandstream HandyTone 503 (HT-503) for use with Ignition voice alarming. The instructions are also helpful in configuring related Grandstream pr...
Hello. I am curious as to what the firmware version is on your Grandstream HT813 device is. I have been seeing reports of the HT813 only making some of the calls and I have been able to replicate this behavior with our in-house testing device.
Just to be clear, you state that you made changes to the HT813, applied the settings and then restarted the gateway? By gateway, are you referring to the Grandstream Device or Ignition? Making changes to the HT813 does not typically require any restarts to the gateway(Ignition), but rather the Grandstream HT813 device needs to be restarted for the changes to take effect. (Just making sure)
In general, it seems as if the calls are more consistent when there is a country code with the number inside of Ignition. (I know the Grandstream device can be configured to insert that, but I have not set it up that way)
Yes, by Gateway, I was referring to the Grandstream Device. This device was reported by the facilities team as working in the past, that they were receiving phone calls. However, I am not 100% certain that all calls were being received.
I have not seen that HT813/HT503 Guide, and will have to read through that and confirm the configuration settings on our HT813 are correct. If everything checks out, then I can look into experimenting with adding the country code into Ignition and seeing the results.
Just wanted to add to this thread, which was very helpful for me as I setup and tested the HT813 for the first time. The HT813/HT805 Guide referenced above by @dmalan was extremely helpful, thank you! One thing I had missed, and did not see referenced anywhere, was to open up the UDP ports in Windows Firewall to allow SIP traffic between the Ignition Gateway and Grandstream device. I was able to connect and make callouts from Ignition, but no voice was coming through. Once the ports were opened in the firewall everything started working as intended.
Ever since I updated to IOS 15, my voice dialing has been messed up when connecting to my car's Bluetooth (2018 Chevy Equinox). I hit the button to tell the phone to call. It connects the call, but the screen skips on my phone and instead of the number I am calling appearing, I see my own number twice visible on the screen in my car. Meanwhile I get silence on my end of the phone and all the caller hears is static. I found two workarounds: Calls work as designed as long as a cable is connected to the phone or on Bluetooth IF you move the call from the cars Bluetooth to the phone's speaker, then back to the car's Bluetooth (meanwhile the caller listens to deafening static on their end until it finally connects properly).
I have been messing with the workaround now for almost 2 full years. We even changed phones from an 8 to 13 thinking it was an issue with the age of the phone... NO HELP! I have called Apple, who tells me that its something with my cars system, but I have troubleshot everything until I am exhausted by it all!
This may be what gets us to a non-Apple product after almost ten years! I don't want to but being forced to do all the extra maneuvers just to make the phone work properly is dangerous while driving and EXTREMELY annoying that we have to jerry-rig an $900.00 piece of technology. It's unacceptable! Can anyone help?
I have updated all Chevy software. I don't really have another vehicle to try it on. I've forgotten the BT connection and re-added. I've updated the phone. I've changed phones completely. It feels like a bug in IOS, because I did Esim when we changed phones and same error is occurring.
The setup has the fxs port registered as sip endpoint. When I make calls that match the default dial plan the call cuts through immediately. If I try to make a call that requires a star code first there is about a four second delay before the call is cut through. I have tried about every combo in the dial plan, even trying the exact number and there is still a delay. The testing has been done with the *82 code to a long distance number.
I am migrating our existing phone system to Business Voice and I am running into some issues getting extensions used how they used to be. Basically we have our main number (ex. 123456789) and I would like to be able to dial externally then input the extension (ex. 115) and reach that user. And internally just dial another users extension to reach them.
For internal extensions I am looking for a way - maybe through dial plans? to get the input of the extension to go to the user as well. Note our auto attendant number and user numbers are separate meaning they extensions are not part of the main number in any way (1234567115) where we could just cut off part of the number.
From a Teams client it is better to learn users how to call by name, ex. "/call ". But I guess you have desk phones that you want to use extension calling from, then in your Dial Plan you can setup this. But the extension have to match the number, so +123456789 would have extension 6789.
A question: In the company where I work, the use of 7-digit extensions (XXXXXXX) is required. Is it possible to implement this range? For example: phone number "+34YYYYYYYYY;ext=XXXXXXX.
Thanks for your reply.
@M365_Teams What about the opposite: using Teams local app w Outlook Contacts local app (right click on Outlook client to call out) to dial outside recipients that can only be reached by navigating a fixed phone tree such as dial 2 for tech support, dial 5 for windows, dial 6 if you have a support contract.
Would be nice if same contact would all Outlook for Iphones and Android to auto navigate calls from the phones to those recipients.
Dial by Name or Extension is an Auto attendant feature that enables callers to reach Teams users in your organization. Using their voice or phone keypad callers can say or enter the full or partial name, or extension of the person they would like to reach. The Auto attendant searches the company directory, locates the person, and then transfers the caller to them. Dial by Name or Dial by Extension are options you set up when you configure the call flow settings in an Auto attendant.
Teams users who can be reached by using Dial by Name aren't required to have a phone number or have Calling Plans assigned to them, but they must be Enterprise Voice enabled for Skype for Business Server users. For multi-national organizations, Dial by Name finds and transfers callers to Microsoft Teams users who are in different countries or regions.
Teams users who can be reached by using Dial by Extension aren't required to have a phone number or have Calling Plans assigned to them, but they must be Enterprise Voice enabled for Skype for Business Server users. You also need to have an appropriately configured dial plan for your users. For multi-national organizations, Dial by Extension finds and transfers callers to Microsoft Teams users who are in different countries or regions. Teams Assigned Phone number, LineURI, isn't supported for Auto attendant Dial by Extension.
