This is the best article on the internet. Worked like a charm. I COULD NOT find a way to install the MS store or any of the pre-installed MS apps (which were for some reason missing of my brand new laptop).

I ask this because I am planning to install preconfigured Windows 10 lite build which comes without Ms Store app and most of the built-in Windows bundle apps, to reduce total size and improve performance.

It is better not to uninstall the users desktop application without first asking them for permission. Display a dialog box that asks the user for that permission. Users might decide not to uninstall the desktop version of your app. If that happens, you'll have to decide whether you want to block usage of the desktop application or support the side-by-side use of both apps.

If you've disabled the Microsoft Store for any reason or are facing issues with it, don't worry. There are effective ways to bypass the need for the store by adjusting a few settings and utilizing PowerShell commands. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to install apps on Windows 11 without relying on the Microsoft Store.

Congratulations! By following these steps, you've successfully installed an app on Windows 11 without relying on the Microsoft Store. This method gives you more control over your app installations and provides a workaround for situations where the store might not be accessible.

We have a GPO blocking Windows App Store on Windows 10. The issue is that it also blocks the native Windows calculator. It's a school environment, so the app store is blocked for obvious reasons....but students do need to access the calculator. Any way around this without going to a 3rd party calculator? Pretty annoying that the native calculator is tied into the Windows app store.

Checked out this policy: Computer Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>Windows Components/Store> "Disable all apps from Windows Store". We had this enabled to block the pre-loaded apps like Candy Crush, Twitter, etc that come pre-loaded on Windows 10 not realizing that Calculator, Photo Viewer and other native Windows apps were tied to the app store. Setting it back to "not configured" resolved the issue while leaving the store blocked as long as the "turn off store application" was enabled. In the end, our GPO looked like this:

The app wasn't uninstalled, we just blocked the store by GPO. It would assume that would do just that, block the store....not native windows apps that are used frequently like calculator and photo viewer.

You can now use winget to install msstore apps on windows 10 and 11.Use winget search --source=msstore to make a search, and use the id of the app to install and upgrade the app.For example, to install Netflix:

store.rg-adguard.net is a GUI for generating direct download links to store apps. Peeking at the source of that page, we can piggyback off them to download the content directly, but using PackageFamilyName, rather than Name (in your example it would be Microsoft.HEVCVideoExtension_8wekyb3d8bbwe).

Uptodown is a multi-platform app store specialized in Android. Our goal is to provide free and open access to a large catalog of apps without restrictions, while providing a legal distribution platform accessible from any browser, and also through its official native app.

now if your question is can I develop using Xcode or Obj C in windows 10 then that answer is sadly no but considering the OP asked of they could develop iOS apps on windows then there is nothing stopping them from create a utility app or even the next big game on the market.

The reason is simple, i do not need all features what was removed in LTSC like pre installed, Microsoft store, xbox stuff, cortana, edge browser, skype etc. Just need stable windows for a work. And i think many people thinks like me, at least who work in CG.

I'm trying to go about Opening a TPK file (which works fine in WPF), but in a windows store app, and can't find a way how, and very very little resources online. I've got the Map view with a map set up in a grid with XAML and code behind that *SHOULD* assign the TPK to the map, but I just get a grey screen. I'm using the ArcGIS SDK for .NET, Any help would be well recieved,
